My office is close to Saints (Lenexa) so I have been taking my office employees and clients there regularly since they opened. The service has been historically good and the food is surprising good for bar food. Unfortunately, since they hired a new day manager things have taken a huge turn for the worse. The last 2 times I have been there with my employees they were short staffed and I never do this at any restaurant but was put in a position to inquire to the new day manager. The first time was a birthday party we scheduled for an employee. We reserved a table and had about 15 people in the party. It took 20 minutes for the obviously disgruntled waitress to get our drink order and over 45 minutes to get our food. Not good when I had the entire office shut down for this event. At the 40 minute mark I asked the manager if he could check on our food because we hadn't seen the waitress in that period of time to ask her. The manager didn't apologize but rather pointed out we were their second large party of the day as if to imply it was my fault they had more than 2 people in the restaurant at one time. He also argued that the ticket said we had only been waiting 30 minutes but I don't think he realized the waitress disappeared for 10 minutes before loading the order. We had to track the waitress down again to get plates for the cake and the overall experience was horrible and uncomfortable for everyone. Fast forward to today where I decided to give them another chance and took the office to lunch. We sat on the patio for over 35 minutes with no drinks and no signs of any service staff. The patio was packed because of the eclipse and everyone was looking for service. Someone from our party found the manager and he got someone to bring us waters out but we wanted drinks and lunch and were not given a chance to order but told someone would be out soon. The eclipse was a flop and still no wait staff so we thought we would try our luck inside. It wasn't any better. We were walking out when the one and only waiter stopped us so we sat down and ordered. The food came out reasonably fast and the waiter was decent but it all went downhill when I ordered a hamburger as it was advertised on one or more of their big TV's that the Monday special was hamburgers $3 off along with some good drink deals. When the bill came I mentioned the burger deal and the waiter seemed confused so he got the manager. (Same manager as our last bad experience). The manager didn't come talk to us but rather we watched him go over to the TV and turn it off then he told the waiter that deal was for their Iowa restaurant. How a Lenexa TV would be advertising a special for their Iowa location is beyond me and why all of the location wouldn't have the same deal is even stranger. Anyway, the waiter returned with the full price bill and we asked about the $3 discount and he said it didn't apply here even though all of us, including the waiter, the manager and everyone in my party saw it advertised on the TV with no mention of it not applying to this location. We asked why the manager didn't honor it and the waiter said that he didn't make the rules. Sadly, that $3 and the the new day manager cost Saints a very loyal customer today. I also live in the area and will be sharing my experience with all my friends when we meet at Brewbaker's for drinks and food from this...
Read moreThis pub was amazing. It was my first time having gone to a pub (I'm 30 and didn't go out often until recently lol) and it was great. The area is pretty nice, everyone inside was chill and the food was superb. I highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken dip as a starter! Also, if you're wanting something tasty that also gets the party started (by that I mean having a good time) then I highly recommend trying a shot called "Vegas Bomb" it was great. This drunk guy came over, all smiles and stuff, and asked if I was on a date. I said "yep, sure am!" And he said "great! Have a shot with me!" So, it being my first time and this kind stuff only happens in movies I decided to go with it. He ordered a shot for me, it was a Vegas bomb, being confident in my ability to slam all things liquid (I can drink a quarter gallon of water in 20 seconds) just to make things interesting I challenged the man who brought me over for a shot that I could drink it faster than him. He said "heh, I don't you can, you're on." We got our shots, did the whole clink in the air and then tap on the table and then threw them back but I waited a couple of seconds to allow him a handicap and then slammed it in less time than that. The man was so shocked and surprised you could literally see the cogs in his head turning. Ended up taking a selfie with the guy because he was cool. It was a great experience. After that my hot date and I enjoyed the company of each other by having drinks and ordering food. I ordered a kind of burger/sandwich that was made of breakfast foods! And she got chicken tendies nor something. It was a phenomenal night! 10/10...
Read moreBen and Dani are THE best bartenders! They make this place great. They absolutely get 10 stars. The food is great here as well. Perfect atmosphere. Only go if Ben and Dani are tending bar. They are so attentive and care about making sure their customers are happy and having a good time. Their service and ability to make strong, refreshing drinks is impeccable. Unfortunately, back in July, my husband and I sat at the bar when neither Ben nor Dani were there. Amanda was behind the bar and it was an awful experience. We had to flag her down multiple times to get drinks and menus. And when we eventually did get drinks, they weren’t made correctly. Ingredients that were listed on the drink menu were missing from the actual drinks. I think she’s a manager, so I’m not sure how she doesn’t even know how to make the drinks correctly. During the entire time we were there, we were treated like we were invisible. It seemed like she cared more about the men and talking them up. She also spent most of the time gossiping, chatting, spending time on her phone, and doing shots with coworkers rather than making sure her customers had what they needed. We came back a few weeks later and saw that she was behind the bar. We almost walked out but decided to give her another chance. It was a repeat of the first time. Unless you are a single guy who enjoys getting served by an inattentive bartender who doesn’t know how to make drinks, you should just wait until Ben and...
