Hong Kong Express — Restaurant in Lenoir

First time going here. They are the only place with boneless Cantonese chicken that I love so I wanted to try them. Drove an hour there. Walked in, not a single customer, the cook was sitting at a table eating lunch. Place is older and not too clean. I place order and the cook, wearing his cooks apron,wipes his mouth with his hand, got his plate/trash and handled trash can to throw away his trash. Adjusted his hat, wiped his face, pushed open the swinging door and walked into the kitchen and WITHOUT washing his hands, and NO gloves,with bare hands grabbed up raw chicken and started cooking my order! He would wipe his hand on a small nasty towel never washed them. He then handed the cooked food threw the window to the lady upfront who took my $ and was restocking drinks and she added brown gravy and used her nasty unwashed finger to pick something out of the gravy! Bagged it and handed to me. I threw it away, NASTY! So unsanitary. I was beyond upset, the chicken looked so good but I have health issues and a low immune system and was not going to risk eating the food they handled like that. Was $13 wasted. Simple handwashing isn't that hard! The food inspection score was 95 when I was there last week and that even seems too high after what I saw. Sad, I really hoped I had a new place for cantonese boneless chicken.

EDIT: I am glad the owner saw this and replied. TRULY wanted to like this place and REALLY hope the staff do make serious sanitary changes when handling the food they cook, for the safety of customers health. Frequent handwashing, gloves, and sanitation in kitchen is definitely needed. I've never left a negative review before, but felt this 1 was necessary. IF YOU WORK HARD FOR YOUR MONEY DO NOT EAT HERE ILL START WITH IF THERE IS A STAR LESS THEN ONE ITD BE NEGATIVE 5 (-5) THE FOOD: WE SPENT 40+ DOLLARS ON 3 PLATES AND I OPEN IT AT HOME AND THE JAP. TERYIKI CHKN W/ BROCOLLI-WAS ONLY BROCOLLI AND 4 DICES OF CHICKN!! THE CHICKEN WITH VEGGIES WAS ALLLLL* VEGGIES AND 3 SLICES OF CHICKEN! AND THE FOOD HAD NO TASTE! THEY EITHER DIDNT GIVE US OUR FORTUNE COOKIES CAUSE THEY ARE GREEDY PEOPLE AND/OR THEY WERE MAD WE DIDNT TIP FOR TO-GO FOOD! THAT WAS PRICED OUTRAGEOUS ALREADY JUST DIDNT HAVE IT TO GIVE TODAY. Having had take out Chinese food for many years and at many different locations throughout the USA, we've never been to a restaurant where they nickel and dime you for everything. Fortune Cookies .10 cents extra and you are going to charge us .25 cents for Chopsticks? We think it was actually possible to count each grain of rice given in the combination platter within a minute. Egg Rolls not included with the combination. Oh and two packs of Soy Sauce for two meals and thry were going to charge us extra for any more. The crab rangoon was horrible...no crab or Rangoon..just puff pastry. Please don't waste your time with this place you can probably find a location that represents a Chinese takeout like we all know. Only reason it is not a one star is because the small portion of food we did receive tasted...
