Awesome bread, nice people. We love the Durum Levain and Sandwich loaves. Brioche great too! If you call ahead they will put items away for you. You just give your CC info to reserve. Helpful if you can’t get there early since they always sell out! Other cool thing is that they sell the bread at a few other local farms (Clark Farm in Carlisle for example)

I stumbled upon this bread shop while in town and decided to give it a try. I ordered the pain au chocolat, apricot bread, and cherry bread, and all were fantastic. The dough was delicious and had a deep, complex flavor! The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality of the bread definitely makes it worth it.

True European bread, so fresh and delicious! The owners are fun, engaging and hardworking. We got baguettes, pasta, home made jam and mustard for a gift basket for a gourmet friend, and he loved it all. Picture below is not from the bakery, but the bread is! Great place and product overall, will be back!

Bread does not generally excite me. I've never been a bread person. My wife is, but not me. Until I had Durum Levain from Bread Obsession and saw the light. Now I can't imagine living without it. This bread haunts me. I'm actually afraid that someday we might move out of the Boston area and won't be able to get it, so now I'm just hoping the schools around here are decent, for my kids sake. I find myself trying to squeeze in quick trips to Lexington in between meetings. I think Durum Levain has altered the pleasure receptors in my brain. They should lock the formula in the same safe where they keep the original Coke recipe and Amelia Earhardt's shoe. This bread will solve your problems and save your marriage. Do yourself a favor and move to greater Boston so you too can experience the joy of a deep and unwavering...

I have tried many of and love all their freshly-baked bread products. Breads (sourdough, whole wheat, challah and others), baguettes, and bagels. And they sell related products like maple syrup, etc.

IMO one secret advantage they have is that they are a sourdough bakery. A co-owner told me during my last visit that not just their sourdough bread, but also their whole wheat, cinnamon swirl, and others are sourdough (no sourdough baguettes yet).

FYI, sourdough bread acts as a prebiotic, which means that the fiber in the bread helps feed the “good” bacteria in your intestines. These bacteria are important for maintaining a stable, healthy digestive system. Sourdough is also lower in gluten than other...

I’ve been to Paris, Naples, San Fran and NYC—but the best bread in the world is made right here in Lexington, MA! (At least in my opinion!) Baguette and Durum Levain are obvious highlights. Look forward to a crumb that is somehow dense, chewy, fluffy, and springy all at the same time, and a crust that is definitely crusty, but more yielding than crispy. And the flavor—oh the flavor of wheat! So good sometimes I’ll even just tear off a hunk and eat it undressed. Come here, buy some bread and eat it, you won’t be...
