“Dat Bar” is a TRUE neighborhood bar with great atmosphere, friendly interactive customers who will welcome the Route 66 roadies & super bartenders (Chanda being a “Run-A-Way Bill” Favorite 👍).

“Dat Bar” offers some very unique features: FREE peanuts (shells on the floor) & if you find one shaped like a duck (& stands up) it gets mounted on the Dat Duck wall. drink coasters are blue jeans’ back pockets ... really cool. the “gin bucket” ... flip your beer can tab in the mini bucket hanging on the ceiling and you are a winner! Not sure what you win, but lots of fun!

Plenty of parking for this corner bar. I mention corner parking because you ask “Where is Dat Bar?” since the sign blew down “kinda” recently.

Visited for the first time in hopes to have more than a beer on 07/28/22. Bartender seemed rude and when I presented my state issued driver’s I.D., she stated “ this does not look like you”. After additionally showing my FOID and EMT I.D. and the bartender staring at them for a while under a light, I finally got a drink. Bartender still seemed rude about serving me a drink. I chugged a beer as fast as I could and left because the bartender did not seem like she wanted me there. I’d probably hire some different bartenders if I owned this bar to get more business. I don’t plan on going back to this place anytime soon. If the bartender from this night (07/28/22) is is owner and is reading this, I’d maybe change the attitude a bit and be more hospitable or maybe open a 24 hour DMV next door so you can re-take my I.D pictures to suit your needs so you can wipe the smirk off your face when someone simply tries to...

Dat bar is an old school drive bar. There isnt a big menu for food, there arent 30 beers on tap. It's easy to find a table, and if you're hungry, you can get a classic bar pizza. As long as you approach this bar for what it actually is, you can have a great time here. They have darts, pool, and checkers. Peanuts in the shell are free, just toss the shells on the ground. Folks are reserved, but friendly. Dont expect the newest spiced illinois spiced new England spiced ipa. They dont have it. But if you actually want to hear your friends, this is the place. It's wonderful, but it's not a hip biergarten, it's a small town bar, and be prepared for that. So long as you accept that, and the cheap beer that comes with it, you can have a fun time. Shoot some pool, drink some Busch, and have a pizza....
