Iffy.... that's how I'd describe my second visit in two days. First visit I ordered at the bar, alacart, beef fajita taco, bowl of charro beans and a large margarita on the rocks. Taco tasted fresh and charred just right without burning the meat. Beans were spot on like you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. And the margarita I think the bartender made ftom scratch. Not an abundance of tequila but it was Jose Cuervo. Next day I take my wife there for Saturday early dinner. Place was packed with folks waiting and cars arriving continuously. But that's always a good sign. My wife ordered a frozen sangria margarita and I, another large on the rocks. Neither of us could taste even the slightest hint of tequilla and mine was surely not hand-mixed this time as it had yellow green color to it so I knew it was a mix... and not a good mix. Plus, they were both very watered down. When we mentioned it to the waitress she did talk to the owner and he offered us a free small margarita. The mix was still not good and I think to make us happier they just overdid it with the tequilla. All we wanted was tasty drink to wash down our meal with.... which just didn't happen. And while I'm not a tequila connoisseur, I'm pretty positive it was not Jose Cuervo this time. I ordered two beef fajita tacos this time and while they were good the meat was not chard and as tasty as the day before. My wife had some chicken dish that had some weird lumpy creamy looking sauce over the top. Her comment was she felt like the whole dish was pre-prepared and thrown in the microwave, which may have been what caused the pukey looking sause to lump up. Our food was certainly edible but not very appealing. I would certainly try this place again but probably would avoid it when it's that crowded which I'm sure contributed to the food not being great. The drinks are a different story. I think that whether they're busy or not they need a bartender to make a good drink for their patrons that will always keep you coming back and wanting more. When the drinks are bad you kind of lose your appetite. Just my opinion though. Finally, the chips and salsa were A+. Im only giving them 2 stars because for the prices patrons deserve a really good meal and quality drinks and I dont cut any...
Read moreJardin Corona Jardin Corona was recommended in the Liberty Hill magazine, so we decided to try it. My recommendation is that Liberty Hill magazine eat at a quality and authentic Mexican restaurant.
On a Wednesday we went about 5:00 PM , there were about three other couples in the dining room. The cashier/host was sitting down, so I patiently waited for a couple of moments until he decided to get up and come over to seat me.
My wife walked in and came over and sat down. The waiter was prompt and came right over to get us situated and get us situated and drinks started. We liked the wait staff. We ordered house Margaritas and they came quickly. Both of us preferred the Margaritas on the rocks, and mine with salt on the rim. They were nice sized but were a bit sweet. I will also add that the bartender may have scrimped on the tequila, as neither of us felt much from those drinks.
While we waited, we were served chips and canned, bland salsa.
I ordered the Carnitas Burrito, which was supposed to come with rice and guacamole.
When the food plate came, I was disappointed to see that canned cheese had been dumped over the burrito and the plate. The pourable cheese was runny, and a pale-yellow color that was unappetizing, something that you might expect to find with a football game vendor selling cheap nachos at overly inflated prices. The rice was canned or frozen Mexican rice with little authentic Mexican flavor, so it was not fresh cooked with fresh ingredients and fresh Mexican spices. I am sorry to report that my impression of the guacamole is much the same as the rest of the food.
This restaurant could do with a management look at their processes and procedures. One thing that might help would for Jardin Corona management to ask themselves: “what would Chef Gordon Ramsay think about this restaurant”. He might say that this is not authentic Mexican food. Canned pourable cheese is NOT authentic Mexican.
For us, this was a one-time dinner, we will look elsewhere for...
Read moreI have been coming to Liberty Hill and Leander Location since 2000. The food is absolutely amazing most of the staff is nice these days. My experience lately hasn’t been very good. As a few of the employees decided they want to profile me in a way that has been very uncomfortable. The things said is horrific and very ugly. One claims to be a manager and when I placed my complaint he blatantly refused to listen to me and stated I Don’t HAVE TIME TO TALK TO YOU. Is this the way Management works with the Customers. Absolutely absurd!! I’m Livid with a few other concerns! The customer service between these few are awful and should never be allowed in a work place. So if this is the owner of the company. Your Manager is absolutely a horrible person and his customer service is horrible. The fact he doesn’t have time to listen to your customers walks away and rolls their eyes and says I do not have time to talk to you. Absolutely uncalled for!! I will not stop coming in to these location. My money is very good and I tip very well and evenly to all employees who have waited on. Wednesday I came in and sat at the bar. One lady brings me chips and salsa. One guy brings me drink. Two people husband and wife work the bar we’re I’m sitting at. No waiter after this. Husband and wife says your waiter is in the back working tables. They go get someone and by this time my chips are gone my drink was empty and was asked if I need anything else. And this point I was ready to go. No tacos nothing. So to the owners of this place. Please reach out as I have so much more to say about this situation. This is something that needs to be dealt with before their are...
