3 stars for now…hoping this will increase with time as they figure things out, as it definitely has potential!
We arrived as a party of 5 right at opening (12 pm) on a Sunday. They handled seating of the opening rush well (besides not leaving us a beer menu) but then it took a good 15 min after we sat down for our waitress to come take our drink order. She apologized, saying there was a table mix up.
We ordered cheese curds. They arrived quickly, before our beers were even delivered. The beers were good and cold. The curds were actually breaded cheese cubes that were served piping hot with ranch and a marinara type sauce. We were not given appetizer plates and weren’t given silverware.
Once the waitress returned to us (maybe another 10 min), we ordered food it took around 90 minutes for the food to arrive. Our party ordered two “The Grizz” sandwiches, a pizza, and two salads. The sandwiches arrived first, then about 10 minutes later a pizza came out. After another 15 minutes, when everyone else was about finished with their meals, the two salads arrived. Our server did bring us silverware as the sandwiches were delivered.
The sandwiches were deemed as good overall. The bread tasted like homemade but it wasn’t cut all the way through so even though it made them easier to eat, they didn’t have as many toppings as a typical restaurant. The fries and chips that were served with them were just average.
The pizza had a good overall flavor and we like the wood fired oven crust but it was overcooked with a lot of large very black areas (more than a charred feel).
The Cobb Salad was topped sparsely, with maybe 1/4 of a hard boiled egg and a few other veggies. The Summer Strawberry Salad had good flavor but the strawberries were definitely on their last legs (discolored and mushy). Both salads had the cheap cold precooked grilled chicken cubes on them instead of fresh, hot grilled chicken breast.
Our waitress checked on us twice during the 90 minute food wait, asking for refills once and then checking on where our food was the second time. She never explained or apologized for the wait.
They seemed to have plenty of workers for the amount of diners present (maybe 70% capacity when we got there and down to 50% by the time we left) but they weren’t organized and seemed to not be working very efficiently. Hopefully, with more feedback, training and experience some of these lacking areas will be improved.
The restrooms were large and clean but the stall my mom chose to use had no toilet paper at all in it (and we were there right at opening).
The last thing we noticed was the lack of visible management circulating during our 2 1/2 hour visit. This surprised us due to the obvious time delays and it being a newer business. I thought I had read it was being opened by established restaurateurs but perhaps they are not on site?
The facility is beautiful and welcoming both inside and outside! We will definitely try it again with hopes that food quality and service quality improvements are continually being made during these...
Read moreI will caveat this with they have only been open about a month so I am hopeful they will figure things out and it gets better.
Not super busy I'd say 60% full on a Wednesday night 6pm. It took a good 10 min after we sat down for our waitress to finally come take a drink order. We ordered 2 apps as well (pretzel and curds). Our apps got to the table before our drinks. Pretzel was just a frozen pretzel heated up to barely warm. Curds were just cheese cubes breaded and fried not actual curds and also not very hot. We asked for plates to use for the apps and never got them as well.
Once we got drinks and ordered food it took a good 40 min for the food to arrive. When it did arrive it was luke warm like it had been sitting there waiting to be brought out for a while. We ordered 2 burgers, a kids tenders meal, and 2 orders of Mac bowls. The Mac bowls came in paper/disposable bowls. The pulled pork that came in the Mac and one of the burgers was very obviously not made there. It was the consistency of the frozen store bought stuff you can get at Walmart. Once food was delivered we had to ask for silverware and napkins as we never got any after being seated.
The burger patties themselves were extremely salty. I know bars/breweries make things salty to get you to buy more drinks but there is a line to walk. Even if we had wanted to order more drinks our waitress never came back around to get a second order in. She showed up to get us refills right after food arrived and never came back. I asked for mayo when my burger arrived and was told they only have chipotle mayo. Then when we got it it was normal mayo? Very weird.
They only had 2 beers they make in house and one was sold out. They don't have any ciders on the menu. The diet Pepsi was fine but they were out of lemonade we tried to order for our little one.
Also they do not have a changing table in the men's room.... It's almost 2026 time to get with the times on that front. If I ever go with my kiddo alone I will be requesting someone close the women's room so I can use the changing table.
The final point I have is as a brand new restaurant I would expect a manager or owner to be going around to every table seeing how it's going and getting to introduce themselves to the clientele. If you want people to come back they need to care about you and your success. We saw no evidence of a manager or owner for the entire time we were there which was almost 2 hours.
I hope most of these issues are growing pains and they will improve as they learn their way. We will go back in early 2026 and see how/if it has improved before writing it...
Read moreThis review was visiting a week after official opening. There's still work to be done though some things I do worry about.
There appears to be lots of seating but half of it is outside which appears to just be a place to sit after you order your drinks at the bar. I hope they plan on integrating a way to order food and drinks outside. Based off other experiences, that could wait.
It took about 45 minutes to get seated to eat. That was acceptable as we went to the bar to get drinks. That alone took 10-15 minutes however. You can get seated in two places, in the bar room or in the old armory room. I was seated in the bar room and I did not enjoy it at all. It was extremely loud and hard to hear my SO.
We ordered an appetizer and two sandwiches. While it did take 30-40 minutes to get our food, the appetizer came after the sandwiches. It even appeared to be something you can buy at the store and had to heat up. (Buffalo Bites). Sandwiches and fries were decent and price wasn't bad too.
I tried both of their beers (only two available for now). The IPA was alright and I didn't finish the Kolsch. I hope their beers get better.
Overall I'd definitely give them another shot to try other foods and eventually other drinks but was a disappointment for such a long wait for...
