Hubby and I saw this place on Instagram and as soon as we were in town we knew we had to stop by! Let’s start from the beginning - the place is kinda small, but the staff were extremely friendly. I almost gave this atmosphere 3 stars, but our server tonight was Victoria (who might I add: DESERVES A RAISE) and she definitely earned a whole star by herself! She was very patient with us first timers, knew the menu very well and suggested some pretty awesome dishes. Okay, let’s get to what y’all really wanna know: the food. We got two apps, and two sushi rolls. The menu was decently priced considering the fact that all the seafood came fresh from their market right next door. Our apps were the Stonie Rangoons and the Smoked Mahi Dip: for me? 10/10 on both ends. If I had to say anything critical, I would say the dip didn’t have a very smoky taste and it was a little heavy on the mayo, but an extra squeeze of lemon saved it as the acid cut right through the richness and we were both able to really enjoyed it. For the sushi rolls, we got the ceviche and yoga joint rolls. Both were delicious- the ceviche roll was light and pleasantly acidic paired with a savory, tangy sauce called their Wahoo sauce. The yoga joint has honey seared scallops and tempura shrimp which were super yummy. Again, if I had to say anything I would’ve like to see a better sear on the scallops to really make the honey flavor really pop, but overall- we really enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back :)

We stopped in by chance, as our motorcycle route changed due to the traffic on Deerfield Beach celebration Anniversary and so glad It did! It was around 6:00 when we arrived and it was already busy there with a wait but we were lucky enough to grab two seats at the inside bar. The bartender Jayven completely made our night. He made great recommendations and really knew about the food and the beer for my boyfriend's taste buds! We found out he was very experienced in the industry, and it showed. Papa's is so lucky to have him on their team. We started off with a couple of cocktails. I just had house tequila and and the boyfriend had this very interesting toasted coconut cream ale. It was very delicious and different, but the type of beer you would only drink one of, so he continued on next to get The Ghost in the Machine IPA. For food we started off with the Stonie Rangoons (real crab meat but a little too creamy on the inside floor is), next, upon our bartender's recommendation, we had The Kitty Kat roll, which was out of this world delicious and had no rice and we loved it! We finished off with the Blackened Sword bites, which again was a recommendation from Jayven, and it was literally some of the best swordfish I have ever had... not dry, so juicy and the flavor.....well, let's just say I didn't even need the sauce it came with. We found out there's some happy hour specials during the week. Pictures are within my review as well for that.

I would give this place a solid 3.5. I would have loved to have given them a 4 rating but there were a few to many things that could not be overlooked for my review. I was visiting out of town and looking for a restaurant who served the best fried snapper in town. All reviews pointed to papa's. And the reviews were accurate the whole Snapper was fresh and absolutely fried to perfection. The presentation of the fish was on point too. However, there were a few cons that took away from my dining experience. 1. They only had a 3.9 lb snapper for my party of 2. That's a huge fish for just two people and at $18.99 a pound pretty pricey not to come with any sides. * 2.5 star service* 2. When seated we weren't offered water. I had to ask for it at the end of my meal and it came out in worn glasses that were busted around the rim. See 📸. 3. All the food came out at different times and not all at once. (French fries, salad, Snapper) It would have been nice if everything came out at once. 4. For the price point of the meal it would have been nice if the resturant served bread or chips and fish dip, something complimentary considering the wait for your food could take a bit since it's cooked fresh. Conclusion: Everything we ordered was delicious and tasted fresh. The food quality and preparation is on point. However, Is it really worth it if everything else is lacking - ambiance, service, thoughtfully composed hospitality. Would I return yes but with managed expectations.

A nice friendly restaurant/ market with a good friendly staff. I liked my time here and I would come came again. The place is easy to find. Look for the blue roof. It can be seen from afar. It is a restaurant with a seafood store next to it. The store is nice. It has a good variety of fish inside. They also have seafood salads, sauces, Bimini bread, t-shirts, some vegetables, and other things. The restaurant has two bars. One inside and one out. It is cool inside. I sat outside. It was a nice area. The server was very friendly and gave good recommendations. I recommend the clam chowder. It was excellent. The grilled cheese, good. The Bimini bread I liked. Nice and soft bread. I wish I had bought more lol. We ordered clams and tuna nachos. I liked them both. I ordered a battered snapper with a side of fried rice. The fish tasted fresh. I liked the crunch it had. I was happy with it. The atmosphere is very nice here. I enjoyed the happy vibes. I can definitely see why this restaurant shows out as one of the top ones when researching for a seafood restaurant. The positive reviews are all on point.

Papa’s raw bar does not disappoint! There is something for everyone from sushi to lobster mac ‘n cheese…and tons of options in between. The only complaint is that it took me forever to choose what to eat because it all looked so good! They have an awesome happy hour on food and drinks….and the best stone crab claws in town (at a great price). Service was great, the food comes out as it’s made no nothing is sitting around getting cold or stale. The service was on point, drinks were never low and fast clean up when finished with each dish. If you want to support an excellent local restaurant or impress your friends with the freshest seafood in town, look no further. Warning: you’ll be hooked. Pictured below: -Oysters (Fresh and huge! Also shucked the right way- not butchered)) -Colossal claw -Oysters Rockefeller -Cassie Roll (soooo good) -Not sure the name of the other roll, but super good option if you don’t want rice! -Keylime pie (had to be homemade) - Super chill live music to set a fun vibe. -We also had the lobster m ac, but it disappeared before I could take a pic!

I discovered this fish market and restaurant on Instagram while craving fried snapper for several months. I jokingly think my phone eavesdrops on me because it started showing me fish restaurants. Papa Raw Bar appeared on my feed multiple times, and it also showed up on my partner's feed, who then sent it to me. We decided to check it out the next time we visited Fort Lauderdale, and we weren't disappointed. The fish was fresh and plentiful. For starters, we ordered blackened swordfish bites served with seaweed salad and spicy mayo. My only complaint was that they were a bit stingy with the seaweed salad—I guess I’m just greedy, lol. The bites were delicious, and the fish was fresh and tasty. We also shared a fried snapper, which was cooked to perfection and served with several dipping sauces. Additionally, we ordered truffle fries and mac and cheese, and everything was delicious. The staff was friendly, and we will definitely go back to try more items from the menu.
