I am writing to warn potential customers about the shockingly poor service I received from J R Dunn, specifically from an employee named Dimitri. On June 11, I entrusted them with my Rolex for critical water damage repair and a band adjustment. After submitting my watch and being informed it would need critical repair, I did not hear from them for weeks regarding a quote. When I finally called for an update, Dimitri lied, claiming, "We already spoke about this," when no such conversation had ever occurred. He later admitted that authorization for the repairs wasn't even sent to Rolex until the day I called (June 30), causing a significant and unnecessary delay. Despite my explicit request and Dimitri's assurance in this very conversation on June 30. that the bracelet would be adjusted, the watch was returned with the band completely unadjusted. When confronted, he offered to adjust it on the spot, demonstrating a staggering level of incompetence—my bracelet had no removable links, which was the subject of my request from the start. The clasp was also not polished. The connecting pieces to the band were loose and made sounds. I was honestly shocked to have my watch returned in this condition. After this frustrating ordeal, I took my watch to an official Rolex Service Center in Germany. They completed the polishing and the specialized band adjustment correctly, efficiently, and for a fraction of the price, all with transparent communication. J R Dunn and Dimitri are unfit to handle luxury timepieces. Their service is characterized by neglect, dishonesty, and a fundamental lack of skill. Do not make the same mistake I did. Go directly to Rolex or a more reputable dealer.
My experience was a complete failure at every step. Save your time, money, and stress!
**EDIT BECAUSE I CANT REPLY TO THEIR COMMENT: I immediately emailed Patricia to her email address and have not received a response to this day. The replacement she mentioned was a mere upsell attempt, rolex in Germany assured me the band was functional and the adjustment was no problem. Read moreI would like to start out this review by giving you a brief summary of my experience with J.R. Dunn Jewelers in Lighthouse Point. I had been actively searching for a Rolex timepiece. This is my first ever Rolex and I was extremely excited about the opportunity. I have heard great things from many people about J.R. Dunn and this is why I chose to only come to them for my watch search. I initially emailed James, who is their Rolex product specialist, and I told him about my interest in a new watch. I was then invited to meet with James, in which he was able to spend a lot of time with me discussing the different models, features, and in particular what I was looking for. After a few weeks, James gave me a call and to my happy surprise he said my timepiece was ready for pickup. From the moment I walked in, to the moment I left with my new watch, everybody at J.R Dunn were extremely welcoming and kind. As this being my first Rolex, the experience couldn’t have been any better. James is an outstanding product specialist and a gentleman. I also had the opportunity to meet with Sean Dunn, who kindly spoke to me and we introduced ourselves. Purchasing any type of jewelry piece is a special moment and a great privilege, whether it is for yourself or for someone else. It really does make a difference going to a jeweler that has the experience and the credentials to do business with. The store is beautiful and I am extremely happy with my purchase. Read moreI needed a jewelry store to solve my problem and after looking at local reviews on line I was sure J.R. Dunn was going to be my answer. On Friday I received a pre-op call regarding my left hand index “trigger” finger surgery scheduled right after the weekend and certain prep procedures were explained—one, that I was not to wear any jewelry. No problem I thought until I tried to remove my wedding ring from my ring finger and was shocked to discover I couldn’t. I tried every method I found on the internet with no success but did learn that jewelers had a special tool for just this occasion. The next morning I drove to JR Dunn and as I walked into the most beautiful jewelry store I have ever seen I was greeted in a warm and friendly manner by Olivia who asked how they could help me. I told her my tale of woe, a call was made to someone in a separate room in the back of the store and as she walked me to a counter in the back a gentleman appeared with the jewelry clippers. Olivia stayed with me and in seconds he made a clean cut and they returned the pieces to me in a soft tiny bag. I wanted to leave the ring with them for resizing but they advised waiting a few months until all the swelling in my fingers went down. I thank you JR Dunn for doing this so quickly and expertly with such kindness. As I shared, the ring is very special to me as represents 46 years of marriage to a wonderful man who passed away 6 years ago.I look forward to seeing you all again and to additionally have you redesign a piece for me....
