The Eastwood Inn is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food and great service! I have eaten here before, and it was delicious and well worth the price for the quality. However, I am writing this review more so as, I believe, the first bride to be married at The Eastwood since the owners took ownership in 2015. Due to COVID-19, my now husband and I had to rearrange our plans for our November wedding. Drue and Erica came through entirely.
They worked with us in detail to arrange an early afternoon wedding on the lawn of The Eastwood Inn on what ended up being a cool, but sunny November day. I was allowed to decorate inside the day before the ceremony, and left instructions for the day of for certain attendants. Drue provied storage for everything.
The day of, seating was provided for older family members outside. After the ceremoy, those who wanted to could have their sliders outside on the unque porch of The Eastwood, while the rest enjoyed them in the atmospheric bar and restaurant (with social distancing requirements in place). Those "sliders," however, were above and beyond. The burger "sliders" were pretty much the size of regular burgers. We also ordered gourmet mac and cheese, shrimp salad and toast tips, and fries/onion rings. It was all delicious, all perfect for our afternoon wedding, and all approved by our guests.
They also catered wonderfully to my mother's Celiac Disease, providing her with gluten free options that went above and beyond what she usually experiences at most restaurants--including a gluten-free bun for her burger sliders.
Whether you are patronizing The Eastwood Inn as a dinner guest or a special event guest, this place goes above and beyond--even during a pandemic with so many challenging requirements, and even for people with dietary requirements. Although our wedding palns changed so drastically because of COVID-19, I am so glad it allowed us to have such a beautiful and unique wedding and mini reception at The Eastwood. Thank you, Drue and Erica, for making our special day so memorable and...
Read moreWe had a reservation for 4 at 7:30pm on Saturday the eve of Valentine’s Day. After nearly causing an accident fighting for a parking spot “on the street” we were not even greeted at the door. After a few minutes we walked up to the bar tender and asked about our reservation. He seemed shocked that nobody greeted us, then make a wise crack about this being a speak easy. He managed to find someone that allowed him to seat us. He walked us back to the front door and placed us at a make-shift table literally within swinging distance of the door itself, next to a space heater. Then, the fun really started. It took 10 minutes for someone to come to the table for drink orders. Then.... nothing. Well except the following response when someone in our party asked a passing waitress what the fish special was “it’s written right there” as she pointed to the menu. Finally after sitting at the table for 30 minutes having received nothing but a small carafe of water, we got up and walked out. We never received a single drink (we mostly ordered wine, so hard to mix right?). The real tragedy is several people who followed us into the restaurant were also having the same problem, some were still waiting at the front door when we left. Also, I got up to use the bathroom one time while waiting and noticed that very few tables had been served any food. I get it that it’s a special evening, but there’s no excuse for taking reservations you can’t handle. I’m sure the owner will make some excuse as witnessed by several previous comments to other reviewers, rather than simply apologizing. I recommend...
Read moreI heard great things about this restaurant for years and have been eagerly wanting to visit the establishment only to be hugely disappointed! We drove 45 minutes over the mountain on a cold winter night to be greeted at the door by an irritated lady because we tried pulling on the door not knowing we were supposed to ring a doorbell. This restaurant is known for having good steaks. I ordered the T-bone done Medium and the other party ordered the Filet Mignon done Medium Rare. Both of our steaks were chewy and way overcooked to the point where they were both just about Well Done. There was no pink in mine whatsoever, and the cut had a good bit of fat on it. For a place whose specialty is steaks, you would think they would know how to cook them appropriately. I have had much better steaks for much less than $60, and I don't mind paying for a good steak. The waitress was less than attentive and not friendly at all. You can't blame busyness on this particular night because we were only one of two tables in the whole joint! Needless to say, I won't be back or sending any visitors to this...
