We regularly eat at Indian restaurants because it is our favorite cuisine. This is the only Indian restaurant that tasted nothing like the others we have supported over decades in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. When we came in, we were not greeted. There was no sign that said please wait or please seat yourself. When someone first greeted us, she looked at us confused and said “this is an Indian restaurant”. She then seated us and took our orders. She asked “Can you handle spice?” We proceeded to order five different entrees, and all five of us disliked our food. The Saag paneer tasted like frozen spinach with no salt, spices or flavor other than “previously frozen”. We all agreed that this wasn’t worth paying less for authentic Indian food, such a disappointment. Chicken Korma was like a soup with only a few pieces of poorly cooked chicken and tasted unlike the Chicken Korma we’ve had at other establishments for decades where we have also dined with our Indian colleagues and friends. The worst part is that two people with two different dishes ended up having terrible gastrointestinal issues. Judging based on the unprofessional responses to other one star reviews, the same thing will happen with this review. Take my advice- skip this establishment. You’ll thank yourself. Try Rasoi in Pawtucket or Bollywood Grill in Cumberland. There are a wealth of wonderful Indian restaurants in Westborough, Massachusetts as well. We will happily continue to support businesses who care about the customers they...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Chennai Tiffins restaurant, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The food here is nothing short of awesome, and every dish we ordered left us completely satisfied.
I placed a big order for my group, and to my surprise, the restaurant generously included a complimentary chicken starter. This kind gesture added to the overall delight of our dining experience. Additionally, they offered a generous 10% discount on our bill, which made the meal even more enjoyable.
What impressed me the most was the consistency in taste. I visited the restaurant two days in a row, and each time, the flavors were on point, leaving no room for disappointment. The chefs at Chennai Tiffins undoubtedly know their craft, and their dedication to maintaining high-quality taste is evident.
Sharing this culinary journey with my friends and family was a pleasure. They, too, fell in love with the food and couldn't stop praising the delightful taste. It's safe to say that Chennai Tiffins has become a favorite among our circle, and we can't wait to return for more delicious meals.
For those seeking authentic Indian cuisine in the RI area, Chennai Tiffins is an absolute must-visit. The food is exceptional, the service is warm and friendly, and the overall experience is truly memorable. As of now, this restaurant stands as the best place to indulge in Indian flavors, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an extraordinary...
Read moreThis is one of the hidden gems for indian food lovers in RI. And donot let the looks of the restaurant deceive you of the quality of the food served there.
At first I was quite skepticial to try this place. The facade of the building and the confusing interior didnt help at all in forming high first impression. It is a convenience store/deli market converted into a restaurant. The owner of this place even told that this place has convenience store license. So it all made sense, to how the place was looking like.
The menu card gave some hints of the good things to come. Menu boasts of many south indian favourites, and we tried many of them and they were all awesome.
Chicken 65 we ordeded came out just like what I will expect in Chennai food scene. Was perfect. Kothu Parota was other worldly. There is only one another place in RI where I can get Kothu Parota and Chennai Tiffin is my new favorite for kothu parota. Biryani and Chettinad chicken curry both stood up on their own for their authenticiy and taste.
Prices were reasoable and hospitality was warm.
I expect in the coming months there will be more traffic here and thereby more improvement will be done in the interior.
If you like authentic south Indian food, this is a must...
