I recently dined at the Mexican Restaurant and was pleased with the overall experience. The ambience was great, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The fact that they serve liquor added to the enjoyment of the meal. One notable aspect was the ample room and parking available, which made the visit convenient. The restaurant was also clean, contributing to a comfortable dining environment. However, one area for improvement is the service. The server had difficulty communicating in English, making it challenging to convey specific customization requests. For instance, they struggled to understand "no meat." Despite this, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall, the Mexican Restaurant is a good choice for a meal, and I would consider revisiting despite the service issue.

It was the best I have ever had!!!! REAL Crab, lobster, shrimp, scallops, white fish, sautéed onions, green pepper, with a slice of fresh cactus and grilled banana pepper on top smoothered in cheese. All served in a sizzling hot molcajete. On the side they gave me a huge plate of rice. Beans. Lettuce. Guacamole. Sour cream. Chips and salsa for starters were delicious too. Brought them before we even ordered a drink! Service was exceptional. Our server was Raul. We tipped great because he deserved it. So nice and friendly. Super fast. Everyone was on it.

The best!! This place is amazing!! Great food, service and atmosphere!! Located in Lincoln, IL just off the 55! Other than fast food chains this is the only Mexican food in town. Seated our party of 14 immediately! Hosts and servers were so friendly and courteous! Chips and Salsa as we sat down of course and you can tell it was house made! Thin crunchy chips! Huge menu with too many dishes to choose from!! I took pictures of as many of our groups entrees I could. Love this place and highly recommend it!!!

When you first walk into El Mazatlan, you’re immediately hit with a lively and fun vibe 🎉. The decor and ambiance scream fiesta, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. From the get-go, you’re welcomed with a basket of crispy tortilla chips and a bowl of slightly sweet salsa 🍅. A great start!

I couldn't resist the call of queso and chorizo to accompany my tortilla chips 🧀. Rich, creamy queso paired with spicy, flavorful chorizo—an appetizer heaven!

For the main course, I chose the chori chicken 🍗. The chicken was cooked to perfection—tender and juicy, with the jalapenos adding just the right amount of heat to keep things interesting 🌶️. The meal was perfectly balanced, and I enjoyed cooling down with an ice-cold Dos Equis 🍺.

The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff making sure everything was just right 👌. The cleanliness of the restaurant was also commendable, making the entire experience pleasant and comfortable 🧼.

Overall, El Mazatlan offers a delightful dining experience with great food, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly...

You'll find it behind the Super8 Motel with plenty of parking. We dined in early for Taco Tuesday. The hard shell beef tacos tasted really good and my friends chimichanga was good too. I don't consider myself the type to be a snob about food presentation. After all, this is in a mid-size town in Central IL, so who should care right? It was just interesting that it made an impression on me. The tacos were normal size but just looked sad and little on the big stark white plate. Like I said, they were really good. But in this one instance, I can see why people plate food with garnish or have a side with it on the plate to be more asthetically pleasing. The server was pleasant but not engaging or welcoming. I'm big on making service a key point. Food quality can fluctuate due to lots of factors. What you can make certain of is great service. El Mazatlan is a solid bet, so I'll be going...

My husband and I have eaten here several times. The food is fine. But, the service is consistently bad. Our server (different each time) is always rushed. The last time we went we waited 10 minutes to have a server take our order. My husband asked for a frosty mug of Modelo. The server tossed him a bottle of beer and large mug as she scurried past. Eventually, he explained to her he wanted a draft beer IN the mug. She still seemed confused and too busy to care so he just kept the bottle of beer. She never brought silverware and checked on us by breezing past so fast it was obvious she was not interested if we responded. Our server put the bill on the table while we were eating and told us to pay up front. Fine. Walked up to pay. The hostess saw us and scurried away. We nearly left without paying. This is our typical experience with the service at Mazatlan. Stressed, rushed, and...
