Maria's Breakfast & Lunch — Restaurant in Lincoln

The food was okay, but we won’t be coming back. When we were walking in, a waitress bolted outside so fast that she almost knocked my wife over with the door. It seemed like she was trying to help a man who had fallen on the sidewalk, but there was already another waitress assisting him, and he appeared fine. So you really have to think what you are doing before running outside so fast and pushing the door of the place that always has people coming in.

Our own waitress was fine, but the entire situation just left a bad impression. The waitress who nearly hit my wife never apologized and walked past our table multiple times without acknowledging what happened. When we finished our meal, I specifically waited until she was at the counter to try and speak with her, but as soon as I approached, she ran straight into the kitchen, avoiding me entirely.

Been to eat here quite a few times. Great serving size for the price paid. Staff has always been very pleasant. Because they are a ridiculously busy place when I have gone, staff sometimes aren't able to get back to you quicky which in case you need something, is not very much fun. There are a lot of food options and you will not leave hungry. They have gluten free bread and waffles which is an absolute plus for me. The pancakes and toppings always look delicious. Be prepared to wait for a table if you go on the weekend. This place is very popular and there will be a line or waiting list and sometimes it's long. One trip, we had a 45 minute wait. A gave this a 2 stars for the location in the picture when I went to Maria's original location in the picture it was run down the food was mediocre and the service was okay. Now I went to they're new location wow what a difference it looks like an I Hop version just a little smaller very nice though I think they have a few kinks to work out on service. They had specials that the waitress didn't tell us about, and it took her some time to wait on us. As for the ambiance it's kind of loud but nice and bright. The food was good the home fries were great please don't change the recipe but I ordered grilled onions with my home fries and got grilled onions on top of my home fries. I got scrambled eggs with cheese and it was melted goodness. The portions are big so either bring a big appetite or get ready to share...
