The food is astronomical, if they get your order right. Unfortunately for me, they overcooked my steak (ordered rare and got the medium side of medium rare, barely pink at all in the center and a big brown border) and I got an attitude about simply asking for it to be corrected. Two specific people earned this restaurant a 2 star review, bordering on one star but the food is too amazing to only give one star- the first one being my server, who made it known she was put off by my request, the other seems like the front manager who said he'd return to see if my food 'was to my liking' (nice phrasing pal) very coldly and surprise: the front manager never returned (for the two people that treated me less than politely: I'm sorry that it inconvenienced you two individuals specifically so much so by asking for your mistake to be corrected, message received ). Also, in the middle of me eating, I was asked if I wanted to box my things... as I was chewing... about 7 minutes after I got the correct version of my meal. The server then for the rest of my meal did not return we did not get any additional drinks, I would have liked to- the pear martini is a recommendation of mine. Please do try it, you'll be over the moon. In my opinion, this is unacceptable and a continuation of the inappropriate and unwarranted attitude. Again, it was not me who messed up, I would appreciate not being treated like I bit the head off of a bat for asking for my request of a rare ribeye coming out rather medium be corrected. In short- if you can withstand the possibility of being more and more uncomfortable with less-than-stellar service for a potentially amazing meal (the discomfort factor will probably will not apply if they can get it right) this may be the place for you. Too bad the personality and potential of this place being a rare perfect experience was dampened by those two individuals. Everyone else seems to be a lot more personable, wish I would have gotten any other server instead than this unpleasant duo. I know I would have had an amazing night. I would have loved to return back here, but instead I personally will be letting friends and family know to avoid it because who would want such a potentially unnecessarily unpleasant interaction, and continued treatment when it is a (negligible, easily correctable) fault of the restaurant? We could have moved on, but those two made it completely unappetizing and uncomfortable. The only positive (it's a bummer my only complaint is myself and my guest deliberately made to feel very uncomfortable) other than having an absolutely delicious meal when it was corrected? They quietly comped the steak. Which, I would have happily traded in a heartbeat for a better experience. The food is too good for the service to be...
Read moreToday was my first visit to Piedmont Bistro. I had heard great things about it. I was excited to try it. I was so disapointed. We were told there would be a 45 minute wait. We were okay with that and provided my name and phone number to be notified when a table was ready. We waited outside on a bench for quite a while and then went and waited in the car because it was taking so long and we were hot.
Finally after over an hour of waiting we went inside to inquire about our spot on the waitlist. No one was to be found at the greeter station. I peeked at the the wait list and saw that my name was crossed off. Finally the greeter came back after seeing her chitchat with other servers. She said they had called me and I insisted they had not. I tripple checked my phone to be sure. About that time, another person that worked there came over and said very rudely that he had called me and I didn't answer. I asked to see the wait list and they had written my number down wrong. He did change his tone then and appologized, so we thought it was going to be better.
We were finally seated and the server was okay, but seemed frazzeled. He also didn't let us know when we first started looking at the menu that on Sunday they only serve brunch. I had picked out something off of the lunch menu and was disapointed, but things happen.
When the food came out it was okay. The appetizer was quite small for the price. My meal was okay, but honestly nothing to write home about. It was also pricey for what it was.
When it was time to pay, the server brought out tickets out and left us waiting at the table to pay for over 10 minutes. We already had our payment out and ready when he first came to give us the tickets.
I was honestly so disapointed and do not plan to return. The wait staff were talking a lot to each other and it felt like they were very unorganized.
I would have left a 1 Star review had it not been for the kitchen staff who looked like they were working their tails off. It could have just been an off day, but due to my 2 1/2 hour experience, I will not...
Read moreIn the past I've had great experiences, but today was different.
I was excited for brunch, but I was not sure if they had brunch since they don't open till 11 am on Wednesdays, so I checked their website and on the front page it said breakfast every day. However, upon arrival I was told just lunch. I wish that was more clear. My friend offered us to go somewhere else cause brunch is what I had wanted to celebrate my birthday, but I didn't want to be dramatic as they have great lunch options too.
We were the very first ones to walk in when they opened at 11 am. Quite some time after ordering we were told there was a delay due to an online order for 50 people. The restaurant filled up and by 11:50 am almost an hour after they opened we were the first to finally get our food. Seems weird to not have the people that are there in person take precedence over a huge last min online order. It was just strange to see a restaurant full of people with no food.
We could have definitely left to find the breakfast/brunch food we wanted elsewhere and pry even had our food sooner than we got it here.
We were not checked on for quite awhile after getting our food, and my friend had dropped her fork. We tried to make eye contact with our waiter with no success, she ended up asking another staff member, but we noticed her running around busy a bit later fork forgotten. She ended up wandering to the hostess front desk for new silverware. It didn't seem like they had enough people for the business.
I'm not one to normally take the time to write reviews, but now this afternoon I started getting sick (food poisoning symptoms), and their food is all I had eaten today so far so I suspect that is what it is from. Cherry on top that led me to write this, just a bit...
