Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Lincoln

I stop at this location quite frequently before heading into work and appreciate the convenience of the location for when I want a nice, sugary coffee fix before starting the 9 to 5 grind. The drive thru--and a cool one at that, nice change of pace to drive through a tunnel--fluctuates on busyness depending on the weekday, but I've taken to going inside so I can soak up a bit of coffee shop peacefulness before work. The inside will usually only have a couple tables occupied, and maybe one or two people waiting to order at the counter at any given time.

I've noticed that some of the drinks, like the candy bar lattes, don't change too much in quality depending on who makes them. With other drinks, like the ever popular Caramelicious, sometimes the taste of the drink can shift from being too sweet one day, to bland the next. From what I've sampled of their plain coffee brews, those are pretty tasty as well (like the cinnamon creme). I wish they'd get more breakfast options, because after a few times getting a cookie or scone, or one of the delicious gouda breakfast sandwiches, they can get old fast.

I am a regular scooters customer at this location. Not anymore!! Service is slow coffee drinks are inconsistent!! I come in most days and 3 days a week I bring my daughter and her friend in before school. At least 1 time a week my daughter and friends coffee has no taste, like this morning she took a couple drinks and said I'm done. Yuck!! I thought picky teenager. I tried it and sure enough it was horrible. Ok.1 hour later went back in to get a refill on my way to work and I asked for dark roast. The girl goes and fills it up w medium roast. I said can I get dark roast? No we are temporarily out. Really? Why wouldn't you have said that to begin with. Now its full and she charges me for it. The girl standing behind her says to me you need to get here earlier if you want dark roast!! Lol! Wow! Now if this was a one time occurance it would be no big deal. This happens all the time!!! The owner was standing right there when the girl told me I needed to get there earlier, said absolutely nothing. Found it really rude and insulting. I feel like I'm writing a book but I tried to call and talk to somebody about this but of course no one ever answers the phone. So you just...

Pros Drink was fairly good.

Cons SLOW. In person took forever to get my drink order. Looked like my drink had been made many minutes before and left to have the cold foam melt. I understand having drive customers as well, but if you had already made my drink, bring it out. LIGHT ICE? That’s what I asked for. It means “put some ice, but not as much as normal”. My drink had significantly more ice than my friend who ordered regular ice. PRICE. I hate spending so much on a drink. This is more of a grievance for coffee in general and not specific to this store. But I feel like other places are cheaper than Scooters and offer higher-quality espresso. ICE!! See attached photo.
