Tucked away in the corner of Lincoln Villages at Twelve Bridges is the Waffle Farm. This quaint country kitchen is located out side of Sun City Lincoln and just down the street from Whitney Highschool and community park.
This country themed Diner has a large dining room reminiscent of Grandma's kitchen. They also have an outside patio area that is dog friendly. Great for taking advantage of California's fair weather. Which is exactly what Dexter (my dog) and I did.
The Waffle Farm menu has a large selection of varying topped waffles. As you might imagine. They also offer different types of breakfast scrambles. Some breakfast skillets, eggs benedict, griddle selections, and a kids menu. They also offer lunch selections of sandwiches and hamburgers.
The service is spot on. Quick, friendly, with a smile and plenty of hot coffee. Dexter and I opted to have the Barney omelette. This three egg omelette is loaded with diced ham, bacon, sausage, linguica, Ortega chili, mushrooms, and Jack and cheddar cheese. We chose to lose the mushrooms and add jalapenos. The omelette comes with your choice of potatoes, hash browns, or our choice country potatoes. We also ordered half side of bacon (2 slices) and opted to have a pancake instead of toast. Price for coffee and breakfast was $21 before tip. Yikes!
Now for the pluses . The services was outstanding. It was the first spring like day of the year and we were the first to use the patio. They quickly cleaned us a spot and kept the hot coffee flowing. The food was good served hot, quickly, and just the way we ordered it.
Now for the minuses. I thought the price was high for breakfast. The inside dining area is quaint, but tired. The bathroom smelled disgusting. The bathrooms are surface clean but not truly clean. The paint is peeling, stall dividers rusting, floor is dirty in all four corners. The bathrooms are in dire need of a remodel. What's the kitchen look like?

Read moreThis used to be our favorite place for breakfast. The red headed server is so friendly and always goes out of her way to treat everyone like family. They also used to have a hostess that was the same way. There are 2 hosts/bussers that work very hard to keep the tables rotating and are very helpful. With all this said, there are a few women on staff there that are completely the opposite. 3 weeks ago when we went in, one of these women was more concerned about chatting with staff and completely ignored us at the counter waiting to pay. She finally came up after 5 minutes and acted completely put out to help us. Yesterday, she was our server. I ordered the same thing I always do, but she said that they didn't do that. I told her that I've had it that way every single time I'd been in, which is about twice a month for over 3 years. I ended up giving up trying to order it how I wanted because she obviously didn't care. I paid more for French toast and hash browns than I would have for French toast, eggs and meat. Not sure in what world that potatoes cost more than eggs and bacon. I would have had no problem paying for the substitution, but to be told that it flat could not be done, does not seem like good customer service. When I spoke with someone about it on my way out, she told me the reason was that they wanted to make it easier on the kitchen staff. In my experience working in restaurants, the service you provide is not about making it easier on your staff, but about making your customers happy. I wasn't asking for anything free. I wasn't asking for anything crazy; a simple substitution of hash browns instead of meat. I'm sure by their response yesterday, that they will not care about this next statement, but we will not be back. We will be happy to take our business down the road. Awful Annie's is...
Read moreMy bestfriend and I ended up having breakfast here for the first time on Black Friday because nothing else in Lincoln was opened, so we gave it a shot! The place was crowded and as soon as you walk in your smack in the middle of tables and chairs and people eating. We were sat right away and most of the staff were pretty friendly and attentive. I ordered a Denver omelette with country potatoes and sourdough toast. My friend had the Breakfast Burrito, and I ordered a pancake breakfast plate to go. The booths seemed run down and a little dingy, the place is loud and feels old. Everyone’s food around us was coming out hot and looking tasty so we were excited. Our food came and I hate bites of raw potatoes, and still crunchy bell peppers. My omelette was more well done than I would have liked, and the taste was just ok, I added a lot of pepper, ketchup and Tabasco to my food. My girlfriend’s food came out like more like enchiladas, she said it was ok, unexpected, but it was fine and not anything to write home about. Overall the food was good for two tired people that went Black Friday shopping, but we wouldn’t come back. I would like to say thank you to our waitress who picked up my phone as they cleared off our table, I was trying to get my money together for the bill and completely walked out leaving my phone their, as I was walking back in she was placing it inside a drawer. So thank...
