Mutzies — Restaurant in Lincolnton

Well, let’s put it this way. I wasn’t really impressed when I walked through the door. It was the first time we have ever been there so the first impressions mean a lot. I ordered a child’s meal, which was $5.99 and consisted of nothing more nothing less than a burger a piece of cheese a little bit of mayonnaise and bread and the french fries were all of, 10 fries. The drink was not included and it should have been for a kids meal that’s what it says kids meal. Second of all my husband and I ordered two drinks, and we shared a poor girl. The poor girl was on a hoagie bun not much bigger than a hotdog bun, the patty was overcooked. She cut the burger in half. We made 1/2 for my husband all the way mustard, chili slaw and onions and the other one was lettuce tomato mayonnaise, and cheese for $11.99 the fries were included with that poor girl meal. I also ordered a small onion ring that was $5.50 and two small containers of ranch. Everybody orders ranch right? We finish our meal, I paid for it. I got up there and she charged me $37.05.

OK people one burger that you split a kids meal three drinks and small order of onion ring and 2 cups of ranch should not have been almost $40 Nuts right, well I went to the lady and I asked her to add this up with me. I was charged $2.50 per drink for three drinks. I was charged $11.99 for the poor girl sandwich and fries and then I was charged extra for a half a piece of tomato and two skins of lettuce. And $1.25 per cup of ranch.

I was appalled it was ridiculous. She charged me extra for lettuce and tomato. I know it sounds petty, but this was ridiculous $11.99 really, all you got was a piece of bread, meat and cheese And anything else you put on that burger you were paying extra for. It should’ve been a big ass burger right? no it wasn’t.

So I proceeded to check out the reviews on this restaurant and go to Facebook their Facebook page and what do I find, the first comment people said now check this out?

Now keep in mind this was dated September 26 2024. And that was the first comments I saw on their Facebook page. All I can say is stay the hell away from that f ing place they well, nickel and dime you for everything you order and then some.

In light of a recent incident, we’d like to formally apologize to anyone that has had an unpleasant experience with us - we try our best as a family owned business and minimally staffed operation to accommodate to all needs of our customers as quickly, efficiently, and mindfully as possible. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!

We ate here for the first time and last time today. They’re very expensive for what you get. We could have went to BBQ King, Chuckwagon, or Aspen Grille and paid the same thing or less and had more food at a better quality. I ordered a chicken philly expecting real chicken, grilled onions and peppers, and cheese. What I got was sliced turkey like what you get at the store in a pack, lettuce, very small slice of tomato and Mayo and maybe a handful of fries for $9. They have a 100% sanitation score but I do not know how when there were dead wasp and spider webs in the window sill by the table. When I paid our bill with a card the card machine ran out of paper and instead of getting help the old lady changed the paper and charged my card 3 times because she couldn’t get a receipt to print!!! They didn’t even offer any discount or incentive for the aggregation of hving to wait for that $60 extra she took off to be put back in my account and when the owner had to fix the mistakes she got an attitude with me instead of the old woman that did it! I will not recommend this place to any one and will never go back and if I could give 0 stars I would!

REPLY TO YOUR REPLY I was not rude to any one. Just pulled up my account because she inserted my card more than once and showed y’all that she had charged me more than once. Also the woman that fixed the mistake never apologized and was short with me. I also left a tip in cash on the table for the waitress because it wasn’t the servers fault. I went here for the first time a couple years back when I worked in Lincolnton. It was great, so I excitedly recommended it to a friend. We went Monday, and it was horrible. The burgers were delicious, I have no complaints there. We both ordered regular fries, not crispy, but the fries were dried out and had an odd texture to them, like how fries get when you reheat them in the microwave. We did come at an off time, between 2-3 PM, but there were other people getting takeout at the same time so I was surprised that the fries weren't fresh. We also ordered drinks for takeout. My tea was disgusting, it tasted like it was old and going bad. I couldn't even drink it. In addition to that, the "friendly, hospitable staff" that Mutzies is known for--they weren't outright rude but they definitely weren't friendly. If you're out of something, like hoagie rolls, maybe you should put a sign up or tell customers before they start ordering instead of just letting them order unknowingly and getting short with them when they order something you don't have the ingredients to make. I know it's a very stressful time right now, and I appreciate them risking their health and safety to provide food for others. Mutzies has been amazing in the past, so I want to think that this experience was a fluke just given the circumstances of what's going on in the world. I'll likely eat there again just to make sure (also because the cheeseburgers are REALLY good--it's so hard to find a place that has good homemade chili and slaw) and when I do, I'll...
