As a fully trained barista from the St. Paul/Minneapolis area, I was anxious that I wouldn't be able to find a specialty coffe shop in college. I tried out the shops on College Avenue and none of them met my standards of by-the cup brewing with single-origin coffees. So I'm very glad to have discovered Seth's in Little Chute!
Seth's is nearly everything I could want in a coffee shop. The atmosphere is cozy, and as other reviewers have said, reminds me of an urban coffee shop. It's a great place to study, and the background music is almost always excellent. When I go with a larger group, Seth's is the perfect place to hang out and play cards or a board game (which they even lend out!)
My coffee standards are quite high, and Seth's meets them for the most part. They have solid, seasonal offerings of Intelligentsia roasted beans, which are always fresh. Although some have complained about long wait times, as a barista I understand the care that goes into hand brewing coffee; it's well worth the wait. On one visit, the barista even redid my siphon pot to improve the coffee. I'd say in general, the brewed coffee offerings are better than their espresso drinks. While I've had fantastic cappuccinos and single-origin shots, I've also had a few drinks where the shots was noticeably over or under extracted. However, that's getting picky and overall the coffee is the best you'll get anywhere in the Fox Valley.
The food is also great, although I haven't tried enough offerings to give a full review. I've always been satisfied with meals I get there though.
Check out Seth's if you haven't yet! Wonderful coffee, atmosphere and food. The baristas (and Seth) are always very friendly when I visit and any waiting you have should be worth the quality!
One last remark, I wish they could take tips from a debit card! I hardly ever carry cash and wish I could show the baristas how much I...
Read moreI never do reviews for businesses; this is the first. I've developed a love/hate relationship with Seth's Coffee for the past 10 years but that ends today. I'm the angry black man who only comes in for vegan scones & muffins; or at least that's who I turn into after dealing with most of the baristas at the Little Chute location. I've been to all 3 locations but for some reason the Little Chute location has it out for me...; let me explain. It all started when a barista who helped me many times before gave me attitude when I bought the last of the vegan scones. She basically made fun of me for buying that many scones. I wasn't pleased with her customer service but I gave Seth's Coffee a pass. Every since that encounter I've felt a weird vibe when I go into Seth's in Little Chute. I find out a couple years later that a coworker of mine who used to work @ Seth's in Little Chute remembered me from frequenting that location, and he had some Intel for me about my reputation @ Seth's. That location pretty much labeled me a problematic customer because I buy all the vegan scones and the barista never have any vegan treats to eat. They also ended up firing the barista who gave me attitude because she was giving customers too much attitude. The only reason I continued to go back to that location is because their vegan scones & muffins are the best. I could go on & on about the f'd up experiences I've had at this location but I'm going to end on this note. If Seth spent more money on his employees than he did on his futuristic latte making machines & top of the line POS systems then maybe his overworked, no sense of urgency having employees would be able to provide better...

I went from 4 to 5 stars after several more years of great coffee. Compared to other places, Seth's deserves 5 stars. One of the coziest shops you'll find, and the coffee has real flavor. I've yet to find better pour-overs.
They constantly add new/seasonal items and single origin options along with their mainstays and limited but tasty food menu.
You may have to wait a bit because they take their time making your order well and sometimes get backed up due to large demand. You can always order online ahead of time, which is a breeze.
I appreciate that the baristas are friendly, not chatty, and let me go about my business. They're very focused on their work. I'm always impressed when they remember me despite my minimalist conversation even if it's a newer barista or if it's been a while since I've been in.

Good coffee and nice atmosphere. Nice smaller menu for lunch type meals. And they serve bottle/can craft beer which is fantastic. Comfortable place although can get a little noisy when busy. Prices are fair with food being a little on the higher end for...
