Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis — Restaurant in Little Egg Harbor Township

Solid course that was clearly a private course about 3 decades ago before it was sold to the county because it was unplayable due to an unsolvable mosquito problem at that time. Well, the county largely cleared that up since but I was bitten at least 3 times by yuge mosquitoes. Bring bug spray.

The tee boxes are in good shape and the fairways are relatively generous but if your ball travels too far off course, it can be painful. But, the rules are generous too and it is just a drop and a stroke penalty at point of entry. The greens are pure as you can get for a count course (which matters the most) and well guarded by strategically placed traps. I was never in so many traps in a long time.

Each hole is a unit unto itself with little to no player interference from other holes - like a private course. No drivers permitted on the range, and there is great little pitching and putting area.

They have at least two or three holes with water directly in front of them and which swiped my best drive of the season - what a waste! Go and enjoy a solid 3 star course offered at a fair price.

The staff were very professional and kind and the bar on sight offers a great selection of beers, bar food and general relief on a warm summer day.

To start off I call to book a tee time no one tells me that one they are aerating the greens n two that there is 3 holes with temp greens so that alone already had me pissed off but I don’t live super close n was already there went out n still played. I wish I didn’t the course is not in good shape at all. Tee boxes are terrible rough was so patchy between grass n dirt there were spots in the rough you thought you were hitting from a sand trap. Some fairways were a lil rough in a few spots but not to bad. And the green head flys there were the worst I’ve ever seen there. All in all after them not telling me about the course issues n the shape of course I will never go there again way to many nicer courses In that area or not much farther I’d rather pay to play. Such a shame that for a county course they just don’t care or maintain...

What a terrible golf experience from tee to green. The tee boxes were in very poor condition, rough and full of weeds. The fairways were even worse, with many bare spots and mud everywhere. The sand traps were a joke, many stones in them, with very rough edges, most traps had no rakes. Lastly, the greens were very undulating, but the greens were less than a 1 on the stemp meter. Slowest greens of any course in the world. No fun for anyone in our group. After the round, the cart guy told us they were always this slow and they refuse to cut them lower. Why do you have greens like this when all you can do with every putt is hit it as hard as you can just to get it near the hole? No skill involved!! This course is a great layout, but until they fix everything from tee to green, I will not return. A waste of an entire...
