I wanted to love this place. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon because I’ve read good reviews and heard good things on Facebook before. Admittedly we stopped in at 2:15, they close at 3:00. It was obvious the staff was prepping to close at 3:00. They didn’t rush us but I could tell they really wanted to close right at 3:00. I don’t go out of my way to complain at a restaurant and I certainly don’t expect a discount from my bill to I didn’t voice my thoughts on the food as I wasn’t asked how the food was. If asked I would have explained my feelings but I wasn’t asked. I was asked how we were doing while we were eating but not asked how the food was, not even when I paid the bill. Most places I’ve been to, especially family run restaurants, always ask on checkout how everything was. They have done a great job decorating it, I loved the decor, colors and everything was very clean. The restroom was very clean and had nice fixtures, etc. As far as the food, I had a burger and my wife a skillet. The burger was over cooked, dry and tasted like like very cheap low quality meat. My wife’s skillet had ham in it which was very thinly sliced ham, it looked like chopped up lunch meat to me. She said the hash browns were undercooked. The price was decent, if all the food was great, I’d say the price was spot on but I feel like I over payed as I didn’t like the food at all. Maybe we picked the wrong things but it seems the food is poor quality. Sadly, I won’t go back and try other things. My 3 star review would have been a 2 star if the place wasn’t clean, tidy and decorated well.

The food is made by hand, served quickly and by friendly wait staff. I had chicken noodle soup as part of my meal and it was very tasty! I found out the man who Cook's gets there every morning at 4am to get the soups and other foods prepared. 7/22 - Today I had a taco salad at Dearborn's. It was huge! And tasted great! Lettuce, taco beef meat, tomatoes, crispy tortilla strips, salsa and sour cream. They also offered guacamole and jalapeños but passed on those. I arrived close to their closing time of 2 pm but they did not rush me. The server was friendly and quick.

Good coffee, great freshly made pastries, and dog friendly. For your date morning or a morning out with friends, this place has all the options. There are plenty of comfortable places to sit both inside or out both for couples or groups. Tables on the sidewalk and coaches inside. Pastries are made fresh each morning with a variety of options. Your four footed friend won't be left out either. They have a doggie treat station. Insert nose and get a treat.

Pretty much the worst place ive ever ate. I show up on sat morning to enjoy a nice brunch w my family but little did i know it would go so wrong so fast ... the waitress was terrible... food was terrible and the owner was a nightmare. First thing that went wrong which wouldnt have been a big deal if the waitress didnt call my 8 yr old daugher a liar all because she brought the wrong soup and sat and defended herself until all 4 of us said um no she definately said chicken noodle? Like sorry but just go get the soup no one needs the drama... i ordered a salad asked for red onion on the side cuz my daughter wouldnt want a bite if there was onion waitress says of course!! When she brings my husbdand salad before the main course there was red onions on it... but when she brings my meal she brings regular white i ask excuse me but can i get red onion? You brought white. She rolls her eyes then just stares blankly and says ehhhhhhh? Like she wasnt sure what red onions were. Lol. My husband and daughter get fried chicken the breading was rock hard but you will soon understand why. (The veggies on the plate are frozen and not good either btw) my husbamd only eats the white meat so he gives me the rest. He takes his second bite out of hus chicken breast and gags. The meat was fully cooked but frozen inside. He takes the plate over to the waitress and says this is frozen?? She takes it throws it away and comes back and asks if he wants anything else. He says noooo thank u. She began to tell us how they fry the chicken days before freeze it and then refry it. My husband gets grossed out even more and upset. Then 5 min later my daughter says my chicken breast is cold. So i tell the waitress again. She walks away comes back takes the plate and then the owner comes back to the table livid and shaking clearly upset saying THIS CHICKEN IS NOT COLD!!! my daughter would not lie about her chicken being cold i told her and she was being supee rude!!! Finally my husband stood up and had a few words because this was the second time my 8 yr old was called a liar inside dearborn... my husband says loud enough for the people to hear about how the food was not good and not to order the chicken... at this point im embarassed. The owner starts picking up dishes and then sits it on top of my sons breakfast and says your done eating right? Hes only had a few bites... i say well he is now. She brings the check and discounts my husbands meal... but charges us for my daughters even after they threw it away instead of just heating it up for her like a normal restaurant would do. And charges for my sons entire breakfast she ruined. So my husband was even more confused and started conversing w the lady when she storms off grabs the cook to escort us out the door when we were only standing there to pay the dang bill. Smh. Told us to never come back.... believe me lady WE...

I will never go back to the Dearborn Cafe. My friend and I, along with our children visited for breakfast yesterday. The food was ok, but we agreed it was on the expensive side for a pretty average menu. Here is the kicker. After we paid and got out to the car, I decided I should run back in and use the bathroom before our hour drive to the pumpkin patch. As I walked back out, the owner gave me a strange look. I get out to the car and we see her, walking over to us. We thought maybe we forgot something and greeted her with a smile. She says "Did you take my bird? It was in the bathroom." We looked at the kids and asked if they had seen a bird, since they had used the bathroom. The owner says "It would've been too high for them to reach". I sat silent for a second while she glared at me. I said "Wait, you are asking US if we took your bird?" I laughed and said "Um no...but thank you for asking!!!" Unbelievable. There was absolutely no reason for her to suspect me of taking her bird. I watched her as she walked back into the cafe and as she opened the door, she turned around and gave me a snobby, pretentious "smile" before going back in. How unprofessional, to be so petty as to come all the way out to the parking lot and insult your customers...over a decorative bird that is missing from...
