I am sitting here now (8/26/2023). I was told I can sit wherever I like and then each place told no, finally choosing to sit in the back. I do not like noise and the have a quiet location right inside the outer door, which is where I wanted to sit, so I can watch the comings and goings and have quiet, while enjoying what I hope will be good food. The excuse given is there is only one server so they will forget me. The seating is right in front of the counter.
The people here are definitely from the region of Thailand, at least one lady. She speaks with a Thai accent so I am really hoping for a true Thai taste. I miss Thailand so much. Sadly, I speak a little Thai but do not feel comfortable speaking.
Drinks. I have ordered Mango Bubble Tea with boba, Hot Thai Tea and a Virgin Strawberry Mojito. The Mango Bubble Tea comes separately from the boba, and it is good, if a little different. I love boba, though. The Hot Thai was ok, no milk. But the Virgin Mojito is a pass for me. I take that back, it just needed a good stir and it is a perfect follow to the Crunchy Roll, knowing out the left over spice.
Appetizers. I ordered Fresh rolls and scallion pancakes. The fresh rolls are exactly as expected, simple and delicious with the peanut sauce. As good as they taste, though, it is the scallion pancakes I loved best! Crunchy and the sauce adds just the right touch. And for just $6.95, I may order another to take home. Wow, these are good.
Sushi. I ordered something easy, that every place has, the Crunchy Roll. I love this roll as a norm for me. Today, the Thai touch bites me back with a very nice spiciness. Oh so...so good! Yeah...I ate it all immediately.
Soup. Tom Kha. Absolutely perfect!!! For this alone I would come back. Wow, so many great flavors!
Dessert, coconut sticky rice and Thai donuts. Ok, I miss the Mango that is a norm with sticky rice, but it was good. Really good. And the Thai donuts made me feel like I was back in Phuket walking the streets, looking at the street food to see what I feel like eating. They were delicious!!!
Btw, the other staff were nice. It was just the entrance. Literally, ignore it. Sit where you want and ignore the rude Start. The food is sooo worth it. Wow!! I am so glad I came. Now...to take all my left overs home. Lol, taste testing is so much fun.
For my fun taste testing, I spent $96.78, before tip. Worth every penny. Oh that is because I also ordered the Mango curry to go. I have PLENTY to put into dishes later. Overall, well...
Read moreA coworker strongly recommended Taste the Thai's "Drunken Fried Rice" so I decided to give it a try.
At approximately 6:20 I placed my online order, left a tip, and the bill was $80. I received the confirmation which said the order would be ready for pickup between 6:44 and 6:49pm. At 6:45 I went in to get the order. Upon entering this small shop, I was not greeted by anyone. I literally stood there being ignored by staff for about 6 minutes. I will admit, they were busy and everyone was working but numerous servers walked right past me. Finally someone came out of the kitchen and assisted this guy who had just gotten up and stood next to me because he needed a knife. Then she walks off again.
After another 2-3 minutes of waiting, the same woman asks if she can help me. Finally! She then checks on my order, hands me a small bag, and tells me to come back in 20 minutes because the Thai food hasn't been started yet!
At 7:03pm I get a text from them saying my order is ready for pickup. I walk back to the place and it's STUPID packed. There isn't even room to get inside the door because people are all standing around (probably waiting on their orders and being ignored too) . Finally a party of 4 walks out and I hear one of the guys talking about wait times. I feel you dude, I feel you. So I'm standing there again for like another 4 minutes when I look around and I see two bags that are almost hidden around a corner and a sign that says "online order pickup". Sure enough, my bag is there with a receipt listing every item I ordered. Clear as day for anyone to just grab if they liked the offering. Since there were still a bunch of people standing around and no employee in sight, I grabbed my stuff and left.
So, the part you may be wondering about. The spring rolls were okay. The "money bag" was pretty cool and tasted good. The potstickers weren't bad at all. The Drunken Fried Rice was good but I wasn't a fan of the "crispy duck" which was the optional meat choice I decided on. Food rating I'd go 3.5 out of 5 stars. Service on the other hand, I'd be nice in saying 1 star out of 5. Cost wise, I don't feel they're any more expensive than other places around here but their...
Read moreUpdate: came back to NH with the same friends and we specifically sought out this spot because of how good the food is and it is still phenomenal! Between the four of us we got panang curry, crispy pad Thai, regular pad Thai, drunken noodles, hot tea (genmaicha), tom yum, and a scallion pancake sort of app. All were absolutely phenomenal. I originally ordered the crispy pad Thai and realized it wasnt quite the texture I wanted that day (it's fantastic it just wasn't what I wanted at the time) so I got regular pad Thai instead and it's the best pad Thai I've ever had. The duck was a touch on the dry side but was still very good. My only regret is that I don't live closer to this place cause I'd eat here all the time if I could.
This place is honestly such a gem and the best Thai food I've ever had. Was visiting NH with some friends and we found them while looking up food places and the stellar reviews are beyond well deserved. Most of us got drunken noodles and my one friend got the masaman curry and they were all out of this world. The duck on my noodles was tender and crispy and delicious and was even deboned! Most places just use red pepper flakes to spice their dishes but they use real chili peppers and it is my favorite thing ever, it was incredibly and deliciously spicy! We also shared a pot of tea and mochi ice cream which were both absolutely delicious. Honestly the only thing that wasn't phenomenal was that the boba were undercooked, but the butterfly pea flower tea I ordered it with was so yummy.
Beyond that, the staff are amazing. They are so friendly and helpful and welcoming. It was such a pleasant dining experience we will absolutely be back next time we are in the area! Do yourself a favor, stop reading this review and get there as fast as you can. You will...
