After multiple visits to Green Lantern Pizza in Livonia, I feel compelled to voice my deep dissatisfaction with their service and overall management. Each visit has been a study in frustration, with promised 25-minute wait times ballooning to over an hour without fail. It's not just an occasional delay, but a persistent issue that cuts to the core of their service model.
The lack of staff training is startlingly evident. Attempting to place a simple phone order becomes a Herculean task, as even a basic request for a pizza with two different halves seems beyond their capabilities. This fundamental gap in understanding their own menu and ordering system is baffling and unacceptable.
At the heart of these issues seems to be the current owner, who claims a seven-year association with the family business. Yet, this tenure seems to have done little to foster an understanding of effective restaurant management or customer service principles. The operational chaos and disregard for customer satisfaction under his watch indicate a dire need for a leadership overhaul or at least a serious reevaluation of management practices.
My most recent visit was the final straw. Witnessing a crowd of 30 equally frustrated customers waiting for their orders underscored the severe staffing and organizational failures at play. The situation was not just inconvenient but a clear indicator of a business floundering in mismanagement.
To summarize, Green Lantern Pizza is an exemplar of how not to run a restaurant. The consistent inefficiency, untrained staff, and abysmal management are not minor issues but indicative of a fundamental failure in basic customer service and operational competence. The current owner, despite his lengthy association with the business, appears entirely out of his depth. This establishment has become less a pizza restaurant and more a testament to managerial ineptitude.
If you're considering a meal here, be prepared for a long wait and a cascade of service failures. Until there's a comprehensive operational overhaul or a complete shutdown, I strongly advise avoiding Green Lantern Pizza. It's not just a disappointment; it's a total trainwreck. Avoid at...
Read moreWas in during the mad rush for the Lions game yesterday, so I get it to an extent. My first time at Green Lantern. I was excited! But how a manager treated folks in the lobby needs to be addressed. Someone was waiting for an order and he asked what they were waiting for. This customer said âa pepperoni with â and the manager said âno duh, whatâs the name?â all smug and rude. I absolutely wouldâve stood up for this customer but didnât want to cause an already hectic scene even more chaotic. I see another review out there probably about this same manager and how he âjokesâ around. This wasnât joking. He was pissed off with how busy it was.
Listen, this is a historic thing happening for our area. Pizza places are busy around game time. Isnât that a good thing for a new business? A business which is in a pizza hot bed. There are probably 20+ pizza places in 5 square miles of Livonia. And this is my first impression of this place. Not great. I get pizza once or twice a week and try to support smaller shops. But given this experience, plus the outrageous cost (which Iâm fine with if the pie and experience is great, like at Primovera or Corsiâs, for example), this will likely be a one and done for me.
My order was placed and I was told 30 minutes. It took over double that to get ONE pizza and a side. Again, I get it to an extent. But the gals at the front taking payment and such were beyond pleasant given the situation. There were lots of pissed off people. The Lions play again next Sunday, as I hope the business is aware. Perhaps a bit more planning could set up a better experience for customers...
Read moreNot going to say I am a pizza aficionado/expert by any means but I have worked at a few pizza places in my lifetime and think I am at least minimally qualified to speak to quality!
I had never tried Green Lantern pizza but had heard good things. I love a deep dish pan pizza and so once the buzz of the new location in Livonia had died down I decided it was time to give it a try. I ordered online and the POS system was easy to operate and place my order. I arrived when they said it would be ready and sure enough it was. The store is clean, located in a strip mall and has ample parking.
Pizza is a fair price, I think with a discount my large was like $18. By no means is it a cheap pizza, but Jets seems to be charging a similar amount now as well, and I think this was better than Jets(maybe only by a little margin and thatâs due to the quality of the meats) The pizza itself was delicious and reheated great both in the over and in a cast iron pan. The crust was perfectly browned(key is enough oil in bottom of pan) and cheese all the way out to the edge with those amazing burnt crispies. I am definitely agreeing with others that the pepperoni set this pizza apart from others like Jets or Buddys. I will be back, maybe not as my regular as itâs a little bit of a drive, but definitely...
