As you can clearly see by my recent rating, the atmosphere is the best thing about this place!!! If you want burgers that have been properly cooked....AVOID THE MCDONALDS on LIBERTY RD near NORTHERN PKWY!!!
The McDonalds on Liberty off of Northern Pkwy is THE WORST for burgers!! On THREE separate occasions, I have gone there only to receive burgers that are raw. They are seared on the outside but are raw on the inside. I mean, like one of the sandwiches was so raw there was blood in the bottom of the sandwich carton!
With the other sandwiches, one site into the thing revealed red meat that wasn't "juicy" but was instead "bloody" and the other was cold and red in the center. Surely this defies food safety laws....and NO rare, medium, or any other cooking classification was requested or expected! In each instance, the raw food was received at a different time of the day- so it can not really be pinpointed to one grill worker, in my opinion. The only thing each day had in common was that the restaurant was extremely busy...and it took longer than normal for the orders to be ready. I work in Seton Business Park (literally 5 minutes away) and was at that location waiting for my order that I placed through the mobile app for over 50 minutes of the 1 hour and 15 minutes that I was gone to "grab lunch real quick" for myself and a couple of my coworkers (luckily, most of us got nuggets that day) during what was supposed to be our 30- minute lunch break...
Eventually, the food was replaced- but that really isn't the point. After showing the manager raw food he proceeded to dissect the sandwich less than 10 minutes after it was purchased from his establishment, acting as if I was lying about the burger being raw on 2 of the 3 occasions. There was Avery condescending apology offered, as if it was MY fault the meat was served to me undercooked!!
On the 3rd occasion, I can not remark because the coworker for whom the meal was purchased returned the food, and I can not/will not speak for her regarding the experiences with this situation.
Raw meat can make someone sick. We don't eat meat that isn't cooked well done... but that also doesn't mean it needs to be burned like the food received as a replacement for the raw items. Food just needs to be cooked through so it is safe to eat. Needless to say, my family will not be visiting this McDonalds for anything any time in the foreseeable future! Is it inconvenient to drive 5 miles past this location to another that doesn't have issues? ABSOLUTELY!!! But the location near Reisterstown and Northern Parkway is no better... so it is also not an option for my family. We may just skip McDonalds altogether from now on...that's what I see as the best course...
Read moreThis McDonald’s was recently renovated so it was closed for a hot minute. The other day I had opportunity to visit this location, which is in the neighborhood I grew up in. I used to ride down there on my bike to get my grandmother a Big Mac whenever she felt like some red meat- she wasn’t allowed to eat red meat as she had advanced in age, but every once in a while, she would cheat and send me to fetch a Big Mac. So I have nostalgic memories of this particular Mickey Dees. It was around 8:30-9 pm or so and they had already shut the doors because of the neighborhood decline, I’m assuming? So no chance to check out the inside during that visit, but since it’s recently undergone a massive overhaul, I’d be willing to bet the inside of this fast food joint is sparkling and shiny. The drive thru lane, long as it was, moved through at a pretty good clip. They’re pros at this location. Food came out exactly as ordered, despite there being specific requests for every item I ordered. No strawberry cream pies though so sadness. The drive thru operator told me it was a seasonal item, strawberry pie, so they only had apple. Funny thing is, I ordered an apple pie at the next McDonald’s and they only had strawberry cream. Go figure. I guess it’s hit or miss as to what pies are available where. Didn’t order a shake so I have no idea if their machine is busted here. They get a full five stars strictly...
Read moreThey really let me down. This location has been closed to a few months for renovations. When it reopened I was excited to see the new place. I even downloaded the McDonald's app to try out the pre-order thing where you put your order together on your phone before you get there and they bring it out to your car in the designated parking spot. What actually happened is that I put my order together while I was home and then when I got there and parked in the designated spot I used my app to notify them that I paid and was waiting outside for my order. while waiting I sat there for 15 minutes and thought they must just be busy but then noticed people coming and going as far as the drive thru and walk-ins . I got out the car and went in and told them I had been waiting for about 20 minutes. The crazy thing is that I could actually see my order on there screen . They acted as if they didn't even know i was waiting . They didn't even apologize . They just handed me an empty cup to get my drink. A few minutes later someone called a number and then said is this your order . I told the lady I don't have a number because it was suppose to be brought outside to my car. she said yea this is yours. I am definitely not a lazy person but as a business if you create a special service you need to make sure you are implementing it or hire and train...
