I can not believe how expensive this place is and the food was terrible. They charge everything separately? My son ordered a cheeseburger that was 13 bucks and to add on fries it was almost 2 bucks more like really??? He originally asked for onion rings with the burger but the waitress said the only way to get onion rings is to buy it off the appetizer section. So basically you can't replace fries with onion rings and would have to spend 10 plus dollars for onion rings as an appetizer!!!! So he ended up getting the burger and fries total about 15 bucks. My other son ordered honey Buffalo wings off the appetizer section that cost 17 bucks!! and also a chicken sandwich with fries which that cost 16 or so bucks!! Then i order a Cajun chicken sandwich which was already 13 bucks so I said no to the fries because I will have a few from both my boys plates. We both get our chicken noodle soup and it was awful I couldn't eat it. I heard a couple a few tables down from us also complain and they were talking about the water tasting bad. Anyways we get our food and it was bad. The sandwich I had was dry. The cheese on my sons hamburger looked expired and the pickles also looked bad as well. The fries over seasoned. Waitress was nice but didn't even refill our drinks until we were done eating already and when i asked for extra napkins she gave me 3 thin ones. Note you only get this one small napkin to begin with. My boys ate but I didn't and total cost of bill 64 dollars!!! I am so mad. I will never go back. You all should really not charge 13 bucks for a crappy sandwich and then charge us more just for fries and then not even give an option to replace those fries with...
Read moreWe arrived around 10:44 to a moderately full parking lot. When we entered, we we greeted warmly by a kindly gentleman, who guided us to our table with a smile and some light chit-chat ( his manner was outgoing with all the guests who came by that morning).
We waited a couple of minutes, and was greeted by our server, who asked if we cared for coffee (we did). When she came back with the coffee, we placed our orders, which were brought out roughly ten minutes later.
I chose the Holladizzle Skillet, along with a side of pancakes (who chooses the toast, seriously?) The eggs on the skillet were done to perfection, over-easy with enough runny yolk to keep the potatoes, bacon, spinach, mushrooms, and onions moist. I liked the pancakes as well, which had that fluffy quality I just can't duplicate at home.
Most (if not all) of the skillets were about $10, but when you factor in the pancakes (not the toast, who orders toast?) it is value for the money.
Based on my observations of the host, and the groups that came in, George's is a well-established choice for locals. The atmosphere is friendly, warm, and clean. The portions are generous, and flavorful. Other than some noisy bussing going on, I really have no complaints, and if I am in the area, would surely consider George's for...
Read moreWe were just there Saturday night to celebrate my mom's 72 Birthday. She and my dad used to visit here years ago when George was there. This was an unpleasant dinner. Our server, Nancy, was not the issue, the issue was she had no help. We had half of our food for our party and when some of us were done the others were finally getting their food. Not any of the other servers or hostess ran any of the food, drinks, nothing out to help her. Having served myself in the past I found that to be very bad mgmt with regards to making sure their organization was together. The party next to us had just as many people and two people running food. Why... when I brought it up to the hostess I felt she was snippy and condescending. It will be the last time we come which is a shame as spent good money and wanted it to be special for my mom. Sadly the food and the atmosphere were both poor. Once again Nancy was kind, very accommodating and running very ragged. Such a shame. I will not when we were leaving and even during our time there I got up a few times to see if busy and what I seen was clearly a poor excuse for...
