Man I really try to be patient with this place because it’s a small business with amazing coffee. But with this small business comes random closings and inconsistent hours. This coffee shop is in a rural community and has been closed most of the days from a mild snow storm with barely any update on social media if they will open that day or not. I mention rural community in my last sentence because at least one person in the family/house has a vehicle that is capable of getting around in Oklahoma snow. The high is 45 degrees today and they are still closed.
My second issue is the employees handing the kiosk/POS out of the drive thru shack window and asking for a tip but disguising it as “if you could just answer a couple of questions….” Do they not make a living wage as a barista? How am I supposed to support a small business when my total comes out to damn near $9 after tip? I can go get a venti coffee at Starbucks for less than that. Going forward, I guess my coffee will now be after my commute and once I am in Tulsa during...
Read moreRecently discovered this with my husband on route to do a river trip for my birthday and this stop along the way started the trip on the best possible note! The most adorable coffee shop I have ever seen! Like not just in Oklahoma but anywhere! They serve Onyx coffee which is the best and most loved thing I get from NWA. They have a Cute free library which you can’t beat the cozy combination of coffee + books! Except wait you can by also having an amazing patio and added seating room with vintage tables and lamps, which they also offer! This is only an hour from where I live in Tulsa. I will be back as much as possible! The scenic drive from Tulsa to Main Street locust grove is so relaxing! If I lived closer I would be there every day! Morning coffee for work, dates, book clubs, game night with friends, I’d want to make situations to enjoy their amazing...
Read moreI drove by this charming little establishment a week or two before it opened and made a mental note to stop by next time I was in town. Finally had the opportunity today and it is a little slice of heaven! Perfectly situated in downtown Locust Grove - you can't miss it! The owner and her hubby are sweet as can be - and don't get me started on their pastries! Had their homemade zucchini olive oil cake amazingness and a dirty iced chai latte - yum yum yum! Onyx coffee is one of my favs so that's another bonus. They also have soups for lunch, wasn't in the soupy-mood when I stopped but it smelled delicious! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. They have live entertainment Saturday nights. Wish I lived closer! I will definitely stop by here more often on my way to Arkansas. It's absolutely worth it to get on the turnpike AFTER you stop for coffee and...
