Best Way Pizza - E. Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona — Restaurant in Logan Township

The pizza here is pretty good, but I was disappointed with their cheesesteak. It didn't taste bad, but I tend to expect a little more from cheesesteaks especially in Pennsylvania. The steak appears to be similar to Steak-Ums, and I'm not even sure it ever touches a grill. Judging from the lack of brownness or any type of char on the steak itself, it seemed almost as if it were microwaved steak. It tasted ok, but had more of a soggy/spongy consistency. The lettuce was partially brown as if it had been sitting out or had not been kept at proper temperature, and the tomatoes were cut much too thick and dispersed carelessly throughout the sandwich. If you're going to use microwaved steak, I would recommend at least trying to season it a little with simple salt and pepper, and melting the cheese on top of it if you don't already. And if I am wrong about it being microwaved and it is actually grilled, whoever is working the grill needs to turn up the heat a little and get some color on that meat. I would also recommend putting a little more care into assembling the sandwiches themselves. Shave the lettuce a little thinner, and cut the tomatoes uniformly, and avoid just throwing the lettuce on top. In doing so, you give the sandwiches a shoddy appearance. First thing I was not asking for anything free or discounted. The Pizza quality was great, I ordered a small pepperoni, x cheese, then added mushrooms instead of Uber I bought my neighbor a pizza for her and her three boys. When I opened pizza no pepperoni instead onions, I called manager to ask if I brought pizz back to prove I didn't eat any. I was calm and polite. I don't care for the pizza here, the sauce just is too bland for me. However, they make a great stromboli. Plus they're reasonably priced. I ordered from here Friday night and my stromboli was good as usual, but I also got an order of cheesy garlic bread and it was awful. They basically just cut a loaf of French bread into slices, topped it with cheese, and stuck it in an oven just long enough to melt the cheese. The bread wasn't even toasted and it was chewy and stale. My husband also got a sub with house dressing on the side.
