Golden Star Restaurant — Restaurant in Long Beach

If i can put zero stars I would. I ordered 2 fried chicken dinners and mind you I have been going there for YEARS since I was a child and the worst experience ever food looked super old and soggy French fries look like if they were sitting there all morning and fried chicken was super hard and vegetables looked super reheated and rice had pieces that were hard and was super salty and broccoli was over cooked and Italian squash... so I call and complain and this young man answered told me the manager was on a business call so then I told him I would like to speak to him and he said it wasn't a guarantee to catch him there always in n out from the restaurant so then I say to myself then who else do I call so here I am typing the horrible experience I had this afternoon bad customer service I have experienced they have always been amazing idk if there was a change with the cooks to the cashiers but I am...

Was very hungry late late late one night abd didn’t want the usual "Fast Food" which is the omly thing available after 1:00 am. But the big truck stop on P.C.H. & Santa Avenue, has pretty decent Hot Coffee. And, there's a Winchell's Donut across the street. And then, there is "Golden Star Restaurant." Since my friend and I had not been there, we thought we'd give it a try.

"WOW...!!!!" Their menu has just about anything your heart (or tummy) may want! Trying not to eat heavy, I ordered a stack of pancakes, my friend ordered French Toast and I added 3 link sausages each with coffee. I said "trying" right! Trying to no avail...ate the most delicious pancakes I'd had in a long time! Thick & fluffy & large! I barely got them down...

Even though we could not eat inside, the Cashier/Waitress, was sooo...nice, I didnt mind esting in the car.

I go here quite often and I'm usually satisfied but tonight was a different story. I called in my order from San Pedro and was told drive thru only in very bad broken english I asked why but couldn't understand the woman because she didn't speak English. I get to the drive thru about 10 mins later and to the window 5 minutes later, girl that is at the window speaks English and says she has no such order because woman on phone forgot to put it in...great. So now I have to wait for order to be cooked and notice a guy exit the side door with his order so when the woman from the phone brings my order to the window I said hey I thought it was drive thru only that guy just came out but of course no engrish. Now I'm back at work and dig into my breakfast burrito and bite into eggshell, that's just great. Golden Star you guys really sucked...
