Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Long Beach

I'll visit this location on occasion. They will get my order correct around 60% of the time. Usually I'll order dark pieces that are spicy. When they mess up my order, it will usually be white meat, not spicy, or both. Today that wasn't the issue. What happened on this visit was ridiculous. I was dining in while I got 4 tires changed out at the Discount Tire next door. They said that my order was going to take a couple more minutes because my apple pie needed to be cooked. I told them that was fine. A few minutes was a long time. After the tire shop completely changed out all 4 of my tires, balanced them, and switched out my wipers my food never did arrive. When I looked out the window and saw that my vehicle was finished (everyone knows how slow tire shops are) I told the manager that I wanted a refund for my food except for the drink (they had given me a cup). Upon hearing the word "refund" the entire staff kicked it into high gear and got me my food withing about 30 seconds....

Finally had a spicy chicken sandwich to see what the hooplah and pre-covid lines were all about. Turns out they are relatively flavorless, greasy deep-fried chicken patties slathered with mildly spiced mayo on a cottony white bun. This is what people waited hours for?? Unbelievable. Honestly, the best part of my meal was the side of cajun rice, which anyone from New Orleans knows is properly called dirty rice. It really is the only authentically cajun item on their menu, with the possible exception of their red beans & rice, which is not bad, but not as flavorful as their cajun rice. This would have been a 3 star review based on the food, but they get an extra star for the counter crew, who had me in and out in 2 minutes with my to-go order, even pouring my drink for me (they no longer allow self serve at the soda fountain because of their covid precautions). In all fairness and be completely on Earth if I can't I would give them a 0 negative like below it's Ridiculous if any restaurant has a situation where as the order is incorrectly prepared therein you're told to come back it'll be resolved, when you do they treat you as if you're trying to steal food by making & creating stories, they neglected to put down proper information which wa to support the situation. So basically this did not come from the manager or the cashier the attitude /accusations came from the cook which is highly disrespectful .. completely out of her lane!
