Well, my spouse (white) and I (asian) usually, we go to Vietnamese or Chinese place and order what we always have. But tonight we decided to try something new. So we chose to try this place. When we stepped in, i feel like an alien here, no welcoming atmosphere or whatever. Fine, maybe they were busy at the moment.
The service: When the waitress came in to take order, I didn't know what I had done wrong. It was obvious that she was not in the mood to serve us. Even tho the menu was clear having a tiny pig icon in the front of the dish name, she repeatedly ask me pork or beef, which make me confused. But anyway I told her I wanted pork.
The food: I also ordered their famous garlic bread (8) and shrimp in garlic sauce for starters. She came back with cold half order (4) garlic bread. (I knew because on the menu, it had number 8 beside the dish name.) I couldn't get rid of the feeling that I was cheated, so I talked to another waitress (which was nicer to me that the first one) and that when I got another warm half (4) order of the bread. The shrimp was good. The garlic bread (second half) was good. My pork ribs were good. But my spouse later told me that his pork chopped were dry, over cooked and seemed like it were sitting for a long time before it was warmed and then served.
All in all, just my one time experience here. People can make mistake. Or maybe the workers had a long bad day. Someone might have had great experiences here. But for us, one time was more than enough.
PS the portion was huge, so I gave 5...
Read moreFirst time impression is lackluster. The biggest issue I see is customer service. I admit, I came in with a group of 9 for dinner, but we ended up sitting here 2 hours. The place was empty besides one other who was talking loudly on the phone. Waitress was nice but service felt slow. Once we came in we got to order our drinks and appetizers but it took 30 minutes after coming in for our waitress to take our actual orders. Another 30 minutes pass and we get SOME of our food in. They give us the wrong food then take it back, and once everyone got food 2 peoples orders were made wrong. One person got their food made quickly, but the other person waited for their food for an additional 30 minutes after we all got ours. The food was okay, nothing special. There were two women operating the front (slowly and a lot of standing around) but with the speed of service I got the impression there was maybe one person in the kitchen. I'd say this restaurant is eligible to be on the show "Kitchen Nightmares" because I get the impression there is a problem with how it is being ran. Also, tip was included on the bill, do...
Read moreGot the pulled pork sandwich and a bbq cheeseburger. Waitress mixed up the bbq cheeseburger w another burger but we corrected it before she went back to the kitchen. She delivered the other burger rather than the bbq burger. Pork was salty and dry and the burger was dry as well. After I got the bill, I noticed they automatically charged us 15% without telling us for a service charge (TIP). I would’ve liked to know they charged us this before they put it on the bill. However, they ask for another tip AFTER you’ve already been billed for the service charge. I can’t tell if this is wage theft for the owner to steal money from the employees or it’s just greed to see if people will tip twice on a meal. Asked the waitress for my bill and she forgot to bring it and ended up clearing off other tables for ~10 minutes before bringing it to us.
Other patrons are rude as well - people on speakerphone taking phone calls or kids with their iPads on max volume. Overall, not a pleasant crowd.
Overall, dry bland food. Nothing special - cheap prices tho, but you get what...
