Sorelle is located in the old Smokin' T's Barbecue spot next the the LZ JCC. There is plenty of parking around the location, so no need to worry if you're grabbing a coffee and pastry, meeting co-workers and friends or staying for dinner (starting around January 8, 2025).
I've driven by several times and seen the place, but never had a chance to stop in, so when a friend reached out to meet there, I was all in.
When you walk in, they immediately greet you with a Bon Jour and welcome you to Sorelle.
I ordered their peppermint mocha latte with oatmilk, and it was probably the best I've had. It's not overpowering and you can actually taste the peppermint, mocha, and the creaminess of the oatmilk and latte mix. They foamed it up with a nice heart. I paired that with their Nutella croissant and, HOLY COW!, that's fantastic. The croissant was equally flaky, buttery, and chocolate hazelnut flavored that when I visited again a few days later, I ordered the same damn things.
They have great looking sandwiches and pizza that I can't wait to go back and try.
My friends got to know the co-owner, George, and I'm happy I met him too. He's a very nice guy who mingles with the customers and is there to help make their visit comfortable and pleasant.
He brought our table a couple plates of mussels (I'm not a fan of mussels period) and some Italian bread and I dipped it in the sauce and it was extremely delicious. So if you like mussels, you gotta try them and don't forget to dip the bread.
The layout is like a coffee shop, but nicely decorated, with different sized tables and comfortable chairs. And only in front of the place are shelves with wares to sell. They're not in your face about buying logoed stuff.
This is such a great location. And I hope it doesn't become a den of at home workers dominating all the tables, but a place to meet friends and co-workers, grab a drink (hot, cold, or wine) and share some lite bites, pastries, and soon, dinner. And they make everything in-house.
When you stop in, say hello to George as he's happy you're there.
My new go to coffee...
Read moreWhen this place opened up it was a very welcome addition to the area as we do not get a lot of restaurants that are new concepts or something unique and cute inside. Something other than a chain is refreshing.
Generally, i like this place and i have been here at least 5 times in various capacities. I will come back.
Pros: fresh pastries - croissants filled on the spot and have a lot of filling. Coffee tastes great (some take a long time to make) they do events - like live music on certain days there wine bottles you can buy - a wide selection (i assume you can cork it right there) the facility is new, trendy furniture - so you feel very classy. they have a lot of decor that feels european. The outdoor furniture is very french and comfy couches - very closed off from the road
Cons: The food can be hit or miss. I came here with my husband for lunch and the lunch food was bland with not a lot of flavor and the pizza tasted dated (not made same day) Gelato was meh - not velvety or great. They add mint to some flavor which you may miss - the kids will hate it. Especially because they add these brown and orange sprinkles to it which taste horrible together! there are pretty much NO beverage options for kids besides water of carbonated 'juices' with over 40% sugar content. I wish they would address this - because the food options are actually very kid friendly sometimes the atmosphere is chaotic - they are popular, lines can be extremely long and move slow. There are a TON of people working there at all times - which seems odd - but they are all crazy busy. Adjusting flow of placing orders or having 2nd registry open during rush times will help. there is planety of parking in the parking lot - but it's kind of odd beacuse there lot is odd shape and annoying to drive around - and too many cars. Just be careful with...
Read moreI feel like an outlier here but it is what it is. Went with wife and son. None of us thought the food was amazing. Not bad. Just not worth what we paid. Wife got pasta and sauce was watery and bland. She had to add salt. I assure you she does not use salt like the rest of us as she prefers mild flavors. I got a panini and only the bread was warm. Everything else inside was cold. That's on me for not realizing an Italian panini is basically just a sandwich. My son got the meatball sandwich and the meatballs were very soft, almost mushy. I got a cookie that was average. It could have come from any Cafe or Starbucks. My son thought his dessert was better than his meal. My wife thought her drink was better than her meal. The place itself is nice. The staff was okay. Not much interaction as they were focused more on getting orders out. And that goes for the guys running the place too. Can't blame it on the hourly staff. You can tell who is who by the attire. Usually the owners or managers of a place try to be more personable but they were just as face/eyes down as everyone else. This is not important to everyone. Just making it known in case you like warm grettings and chit chat. Their Gelato freezer was warm (thermometer inside) and it was melting. However I saw at least 2 customers while I was there being served. Your experience may be vastly different. This was just ours on our first try. We might give it another try but it's not on the...
