Sakura has been my absolute FAVORITE sushi restaurant for at least 20 years. We started coming here back in the late 90s or early 2000s when we lived in Longmont. This is where we introduced our daughter to sushi when she was about 2 or 3. (she would eat the miso soup and a bowl of rice). We moved to Erie 16 years ago and I haven't found any sushi place that compares. So we still make the trip to Longmont just for Sakura! The sushi is sooooo FRESH and portions are large. Lots of special rolls that are constantly changing. I've never had a bad meal here. Kho and his family are amazing and always so friendly and welcoming and always give us extra special service. In fact, today I happened to be in Longmont showing houses and I was starving. I really didn't want any fast food or something from a chain. I knew I had to go see Kho and they did not disappoint. For $15.95 you can get a roll, plus 3 THREE pieces of sushi, plus a salad plus miso soup! Best deal around. I highly recommend visiting Kho and his amazing family at Sakura in Longmont. Just off Airport Rd and Nelson Rd. Take out only these days, so I just sat on the little brick wall out front, and ate my delicious lunch in the sunshine. Call now!

Sadly we did not enjoy our experience here. The staff was helpful and attentive but then directly at 8:30 they were impatiently ready to roll us out the door. It’s not our fault the food took so long to arrive! Speaking of the food it was subpar. The miso soup was too salty and had no seaweed. The fried appetizers were sooo greasy and the presentation was: “throw it on the plate.” The rolls were a shining example of an amateur’s work, just look at my pictures! The salmon sushi was cut terribly. It was big thick pieces that were so tough we couldn’t bite through. The wasabi was dark green like I’ve never seen before. On a brighter note, the fish all seemed fresh.

We had a wonderful meal at Sakura, the Nigiri is very pricey; however, the rolls were excellent and in my opinion the way to go in this restaurant. I had some nigiri because it's my favorite but the price was definitely on the higher end and the portions were kinda large but the rice may have been just a little on the larger end as well at least for our taste. I didn't care for the Nigiri much though the quality was good. The rolls here are definitely the way to go and were delicious. I also noticed the menu had many chef specials and combo meals which I didn't try. If I'm in the area I'll definitely go back for their rolls.

Whoever wrote all these greats reviews are clueless about quality sushi and Japanese food. This restaurant is a is disrespect to Japanese food. First off this place is not run by Japanese people. Many times people said thank you in Mandarin Chinese. Me my wife and daughter came in 1 hour before close, which they close at 8:30 PM on a Saturday night, we ordered allot of food so we could take some home. Let’s talk about food. The miso was barely warm and way to much miso overly salty. My daughter loves salmon, the salmon was not even cut properly it was like chewing on a piece of raw meat and the fish quality was not bad but not fresh either. We had a roll with shrimp tempura and they put k-rab in it because they were to lazy to make the roll properly. We also ordered takoyaki and got some bitter fried ball of dough, Japanese do not fry takoyaki. I can go in and on, but what really made me angry are the rude and disrespectful women that run the front room they basically shoved the bill at us and hurried to get us out of the restaurant while they sat at the counter eating food, another thing that would never happen in a Japanese restaurant. I would respect this place if they made high end Chinese food from China not American Chinese food but this place will never get my business after spending over $150 for...

We went there on a busy Friday night which is our mistake because hardly anyone was over at our table. No water to drink. Never received any of the soups or salads we paid for. But since someone only came by once quickly to drop off sushi, we quickly gobbled it up. We actually shared the sushi rolls I ordered with our entire family because the entrees they ordered never arrived. Sushi was OK. Not great. Hardly the delicate artisan quality one expects of sushi. But if you like King Soopers sushi or Tokyo Joe’s, you’ll like this. When the entrees did finally come out, fried rice was totally inedible, my son didn’t even touch his plate. When we were done, no one asked “was everything ok?” Even though two basically untouched plates should be a red flag. I mentioned that we never received a bunch of food we ordered. One miso soup was taken off. They didn’t even offer to give us the food we ordered, but they sure charged us for it! So if you want to go somewhere that reminds you of what purgatory will be like and will give you mediocre food, and possibly just rip you off and not even give you food, by all means,...
