Came here for the first time earlier today. They have a small parking lot as well as street parking. The outside of the place is clean and maintained with easy to read signage. Great character to say the least.

Lots of great character inside as well. Very cozy, fun, clean place with plenty of seating and of course a bar. The men’s washroom was very clean and had hot water.

Mercedes was an awesome bartender who knew the beers, the food menu and the local beer scene very well. She was the only bartender and server and did a great job to make sure the customers were taken care of and got what they want. Despite how busy she was, she found time for good conversation.

I brought a flight of beers. On my visit they had seven beers on tap, the flight paddle was in the shape of an old era canal boat and was about two feet long! Very cool and great craftsmanship! One of the most creative flight paddles I’ve seen.

They had six beers and one hard seltzer on tap. All were made well, not too heavy on the ABVs, and big on flavor. One of the beers was a sweet potato amber ale that was topped with a toasted marshmallow. It was unique though tasty! They had an imperial stout brewed with candy bars- bartender said they make this every Halloween- and wow talk about chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, sweet, you get the picture. I really enjoyed their beers and wished they had more.

I also brought their cheese and potato pierogis that was tossed in garlic Parmesan sauce. I am not kidding. This is the first time I’ve had pierogi covered in anything but butter and sautéed onions and guess what? It works! It was so good, filling and a little messy but hey what can you do? They have other sauces to toss pierogis in as well such as buffalo sauce and an Asian Zing sauce. As for the rest of their food choices, the menu was quite expansive including burgers and a breakfast menu.

I’m glad I made the almost fifty minute drive to Bascule Brewing. Amazing experience and I definitely will come back. Thank you Mercedes and the kitchen staff for the...

Hands down the best restaurant in Lorain. Before last year this hidden gem was undiscovered to me....the first time i went and met Chris i knew it would be a staple in my "going out to eat" routine. The vibes, the friendliness and generosity of Chris and his staff, and lest not forget the FOOD are all incredible. This isnt your typical, mundane menu. Chris has undoubtedly put a LOT of thought (heart and soul) into this menu. It's so unique, we'll thought out and well executed. There hasn't been a single thing I've tried on the menu that I've not absolutely LOVED. I'm pretty picky so for me to say that speaks volumes 😅 I still daydream about their Cubano! And the flatbreads, brussel sprouts, and korean beef tacos🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 PERFECTION. I could go on and on not only about the incredible food, the restaurants welcoming, fun and upbeat atmosphere and Chris, the owner's respectable and generous character... all of which I could speak highly of for days, but I won't. I'll leave you with this: there's something on the menu for everyone and you will love the food, the people and the atmosphere. And I guarentee without a doubt you will leave Bascule Brewery already planning your trip back..so just GO! You...

Bascule Brewery – Lorain, Ohio Worst experience ever... just kidding!

Imagine walking into a place and being greeted with a huge smile, like they’ve been waiting all day just for you. Then, you sit down, take a bite of some ridiculously delicious food, and before you know it, the owner himself strolls over, introduces himself, and shares a bit of the brewery’s history—because they’re just that proud of what they do.

And let me tell you, they should be proud! I had the Tipsy Burger, the corned beef pierogies, and washed it all down with their peanut butter porter (which, by the way, was the perfect pairing). Every bite was incredible.

The staff? Absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere? Cozy, welcoming, and full of history—you can tell they’ve poured their heart and soul into this place. Honestly, hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time.

Huge thanks to Chris and the whole team! Keep doing what you’re doing, and I can’t wait...
