So I had to update my review bc my original review was for the old Shipyard 😆 The Lorain Brewing Company: Pretty much the same interior space as the shipyard, which honestly I would not have changed much about the design either. It is beautiful. HUGE selection of top-notch beers to choose from, and our bartender was unreal with the level of knowledge she displayed about each beer. We sat at the main bar. We tasted at least 5 samples and it was awesome, well done! So after a couple pints of the Lorain style brews we decided to order from the somewhat smaller menu that was offered as compared the the Avon location. Still a nice selection. I had the Lake Erie Monster (Walleye sandwich) with well done hand-cut fries. My gf ordered the build-your-own wrap (turkey with like 39 veggies I think) and sauteed Brussels. After a 40-ish minute wait and a couple different beers, our food came out. This restaurant menu has gone the way some others...they serve sandwiches with "chips" and charge extra for the real sides. Both meals were very good but the walleye was a bit over salted. The fries were terrific. The beers were fabulous. The crowd was a good mix of age groups. Overall a very good visit that we will definitely be coming back.

Happy to see an Avon guy do good. We want to support this endevor, and we drove from Avon to go here. A very nice facility. The service was very bad. Food service stopped at 8:30 pm. No one told us, because the service was so bad. Tried to order at 9:00 pm, and was then informed that the kitchen was closed. It was a saturday. The owner, mathias, spoke with us and didn't seem phased about what transpired. He said that the servers should have told us. They didn't. I actually had to go to the other bar to order a beer... i was sitting at the bar... Sorry Mathias, we will not be back. You had an opportunity to fix this, offer us a gift card to come back... easy peasy... he didn't care. As an Avonite, I want to support Avoners.... I guess not in this case. If you have expectstions of low levels of service, do not go here, they can't even meet your low expectations. If you want to check this place out, go now, they won't make it through the winter. I gave you one star because google won't allow me to give zero stars.

Driving to this restaurant is literally like driving to a once-busy waterfront. Boats and vessels all around, an industrial feel to the area. The spacious red-brick building itself in former ship yard. It houses an event center and a restaurant: The Boiler Room. The lively atmosphere is a cross between an English pub (with high ceilings) and a family restaurant. The menu had tempting meat and fish dishes. We had been driving all day, eating roadstop food, and opted for side dishes. I had ginger rice, cauliflower mash and Brussels sprouts. My husband ordered the soup of the day - an onion soup and the hummus platter. The sides were great, the cauliflower mash tasted like garlic mashed potatoes and the Brussels sprouts were fresh and well seasoned . The soup tasted fresh with just enough salt. The staff was professional and helpful, they even carried our forgotten charge card to us in the car before we left the parking lot!

Good, definitely not bad; but far from great food. My wife and I got a togo order, and she said it was amazing inside. Food was ready ontime and sandwiches where still hot.

Easily ordered over the phone, and was suggested not to get the club sandwich when I asked out it... uh oh. So, I was debating between between the Club or Cornbeef sandwiches. Wife got the Brisket Burger with a fried egg.

Her burger was a bit on the medium-well, not medium rare as ordered... No pink. Outside of that, she still devoured that burger, and was the first to say "Good, not bad; but definitely not great".

The mac-n-cheese fell into same category. Cheesy goodness... but way to mellow for greatness.

Tots & Fries where good, but nothing memorable or great about them. I wish they where crispyier, but they where closed box take out. (We live between 5-10 min away); perhaps a vented box for the fried potato product to help maintain their crispyness?

I should note, that the menu list Reubens, not corn beef sandwiches; so I made the request no sauerkrat, which was honored. So this is where things fell apart, and if I wasn't preoccupied with a dozen other things and wasn't reassured by the person that took my order it was a popular item, I would have tried something else.

My double gripe? It doesn't come with cheese... but can have cheese added... No swiss cheese. Seriously, this the Cleveland area and we have quite a few legendary Corn Beef places. Maybe, I'm spoiled, but seriously no swiss cheese? If it's a stable menu item, why not offer the most commonly paired cheess with it?

I may have totally overlooked that it comes with a salad dresssing, since I was to preoccupied mentally debating this lack of swiss cheese thing and what sort of monster sandwich I created by opting to add cheese... Pepper Jack Cheese. Maybe it could work.

My salad dresssing sandwich, may have been better off in a bowl. Dripping off the sandwhich, completely saturated the bottom of the bread and oozing onto my tater tots. So, it failed in presentation. My salad dresssing problems continues as I tried to eat this sad monstrosity of a corn beef sandwich, a Salad Dresssing sandwich would have been a more accurate description of it, with cheese and cornbeef additions.

The hints of cornbeef where rather tasty, when not completely overpowered by the salad dresssing (and my horrible choice of peppper jack cheese). and left me desiring to actually try a naked cornbeef sandwich from them, as well as stopping at (sarcasm) Dollar General or Save A Lot abd grabbing a pack of swiss cheese to add to it...

Regardless, I will try their Cornbeef Sandwich again, maybe in a few months once they get settled in and dial in their menu a bit, and their staff learns a bit more about their food. My Salad dresssing sandwich was a terrible disappointment with potential, especially since I should note thay according to the menu the sandwhich in fact, does come with cheese, more specifically Swiss Cheese (Gruyere cheese is yellow...

On Friday 1, 2025, Saturday, went to eat at the Shipyard Brewery. We were told it would be an hour wait. We ended up waiting for over an one and half hours. Many people walked out or left when they learned the wait time. Seating ny the door was only 2 small benches. Most people stood, and it was very cold by the doors. When we finally got seated, we told the owner, when he came to our table that the wait time was one and one half hours. He sad that was good! So he feels it is OK with you waiting an hour and half hours for food that is not even good. My Lobster Bisque was good, but cold. I asked our server to please warm up my soup. I was told the kitchen did not have a microwave. So I had to eat cold soup. The sharable chips and cheese was not good. The chips were stale and the cheese was cold. So no heating in a microwave! Right. The server finally admitted that the servers do not like to go into the kitchen, because of the cooks. There is a disconnect between the servers and the cooks. I do not like when people tell me untruths!!! Do you really think there is no microwave in the kitchen or the servers do not fell comfortable asking the cooks to reheat cold food. On with the meals. One of our smash burgers was cold, along with cold tater tots. No microwave to make this right. Right! The walleye sub looked good and was good. I got the grouper fingers which were mostly breading. This restaurant is on Lake Erie and does not offer Perch Dinners or sandwiches, or have a Walleye Dinner. This is a miss on their part. During our hour and a half wait by the cold door, there were many empty tables. We were told they would not seat us, until the kitchen was ready to cook our meals. It would have been nice to sit at an empty table and have a drink and a sharable. Do not get a margarita, they are very bitter and do not taste good. We will not be going back to the Shipyard Brewery, and these are the...

The food and drinks were terrible. The food was super bland, and dry. The tater tots on my boyfriends dish were super dry and had no natural juices like a normal tater tot. He ordered a sandwich/burger and the “grilled cheese” was toast with a burnt slice of cheese on top. The meat was just ground beef with no seasoning. I ordered a side of asparagus and they were burnt to a crisp and eating them was almost equivalent to eating kale chips with a hint of salt. The shepherds pie was cold when it came out. The mashed potato’s on top of the shepherds pie were starting to harden like they were sitting for a bit of time. The potatoes were not homemade I know for a fact. They taste like instant potatoes made by “just adding water”. The meat was dry and no flavor or moisture was in it. The drink I ordered was a blueberry lemonade. The drink was made with vodka, lemonade, and blueberries. It ended up tasting like complete water with ice to the brim and I had to request more lemonade or vodka to be added to the drink. When it came back to the table the drink was still like water so I’m not sure if their pumps for the beverages were running low on syrup. Our waitress was in a rush to “leave for the night” and wanted to rush us out. She never asked if I wanted a replacement dish for my dinner and I ended up leaving with an empty stomach. I was very disappointed. I was never asked if they could fix anything or make something better for my evening, instead my boyfriend did. The setting inside is beautiful and it’s very clean especially with COVID regulations but the service and items of consumption (food and drinks) were not up to...
