Very good tasting food. I have never experienced these tastes before. I kinda don't know what to say about the fried plantains. I thought I tasted something like bitter or almost vinegary, then sweet then back to this other taste. My tastebuds were exploding! Very different, very unique and dare I say tasty! Sorry I didn't catch the names of the food though, I will try to describe what we had best I can. The pork chunks ( with bones) those were amazing, that sauce!!! They serve it rice and beans and I want to say the price was in the ballpark of $12.00. Very tasty! I would have that again. The beef pieces over rice was good too but not as flavorful as the pork chunks and the sauce was good but almost greasy like. Still had a good taste and the meat was tender. Oh my goodness now these little pocket things, forgive me I think they were beef pastalios that sounds familiar. At about $3.00 oh my, my, my.... Pure Yum! The only downfalls I saw were There were a lot of flies from outside inside the eating area. So many that we were constantly waving our hands over our food. Yeah... I didn't like that at all. Granted it is summer and flies are in full force, but still. Secondly, the movie they had playing in the restraunt was gross...it wasn't appropriate for people to see big sharks attacking...blood, guts and gore and more as I am trying to eat my food. I would just suggest something neutral maybe. Other than that all in all it was a good experience. I liked the pastalios the best! Try it for yourself. As always I write detailed, truthful reviews and if you liked this review or found it helpful would you kindly give me a thumbs up. Thank you and Enjoy El Kefón!

We were on our way home and decided to stop here. Fellow Puerto Rican here and let me just say, the food was amazing! The service was superb! We were able to sample different meats first and the plates were huge with plenty of food to feed multiple people per plate. We have so much leftovers and the prices are very affordable for the amount and quality of food. We will be coming back! Muchísimas gracias por un servicio impecable, que Dios los bendiga mucho y que su negocio sea bendecido siempre. 🤍🤍

We were on a work trip, and this place was recommended. The white rice with frijoles colorados, and pernil was delicious! We even got some complimentary tostones which, as well, were fresh. Thank you very much! Edit: Back again! Best of the best.

Very very very disappointed.... My rice was very dry, bland, and hard!!!! Also my beef stew was tougher than sandpaper and that was also bland. I dont like that it's a hit and miss with this place, apparently it depends on who's cooking that day. I often go here and it seems more and more lately it's just getting worse and worse. I refuse to waste any more money, or my time standing outside. No wonder the woman was very quick to close my to go box. I definately could have looked at the rice and told her I didn't want it had she not closed it so fast! From now on I'll just pay a friend to cook for me so I don't have to wonder if my food is going to be good or not! Shame shame shame something told me not to tip today and I'm very glad I listened to my instincts! Well Elkafon you guys lost one loyal customer!!! Step...

I will make my review short. Sadly, it was my first time visiting today but I will never go back.

Upon arrival, I mentioned that it was my first visit & the lady did not warn me I was obligated to pay CASH ONLY. Once I dug into my plate of yuca & chuletas, I was disappointed to find that not only was the meat like rubber & the yuca super cold but there was barely any flavor to the food. They didn't season things well. To make matters worse, the lady serving us kept coughing & sneezing onto her hands instead of into her elbow area. I was very angry to have to pay nearly $50 for four people when I could've spent just $30-$35 elsewhere for something much more enjoyable. Well, lesson LEARNED! Sadly, won't be going back...
