Avoid this Resturant/bakery by all means! Don’t trust the food or management. They sell old food made days ago and lie to you about when it was made. The resturant is dirty, employees are rude, owner is arrogant with third world mentality! I asked for fresh bread, he handed me bread pre packed in plastic bags. I asked I need freshly made bread( they are a bakery) the owner told me it is fresh they just put it in plastic bag. I trusted him and bought the bread, when I got home and open the bread, I realized the bread is very old and smelled! I called the store to find out why the owner lied to me. He never gave me a chance to speak, every time I started talking he interrupted me. He kept shouting on the phone and finally hung-up on me. Save yourself frustration and Avoid this business by all means. This is not the only time I have had problems with this business and...

I really like the food here but the staff has messed up so many peoples orders that doordash no longer works with them and they use no other delivery services. I found this out by calling them and asking them why doordash shows that the restaurant is closed. I used to order from them every 2-3 days and never had issues. It’s been 3 weeks and they still haven’t gotten the doordash issue resolved. When I try to place an order through doordash it indicates the restaurant is closed, but they actually aren’t. I’ll update this review if they get it fixed. PLEASE fix your doordash or sign up for another delivery service!

UPDATE 9/2 - I called the restaurant today and they confirmed they do not plan on correcting the issue with door dash and they are not going to sign up for any other...

They Brought us 4 cold kalopache meals, which were definitely heated by a microwave. When we told them, they Literally took it and put it into microwave. They did not bring enough bread, we had to ask for bread many times while our “heated” meals were getting cold. The owner was present and did not show any care.

This is not the first time we had a bad experience, a few years ago they brought us raw koobideh and when I notified them, they said “you did not tell us you wanted welldone” which is very funny! And instead of apologizing they took my raw skew and put it back on fire!

It is also very over priced compared to other places. Wow just wow. Plzzz stay away go to much more ...

A friend of ours from LA recommended this spot. I was picking up some items as a gift for someone I was visiting in Santa Barbara. This was such a friendly and comfortable space to visit. Almost everybody walking in was speaking in Farsi to the owners. The owners were so friendly and took their time to speak to everybody and smiled and joked. It was such a well run familybased business. Great to see small businesses run by families doing well and connecting with the community.

We ordered the koobideh and tahdig, and unfortunately, both were quite disappointing. The koobideh had an overwhelming taste of turmeric, completely overshadowing the flavor of the meat. The tahdig with ghormeh sabzi and gheimeh was far from the authentic taste we were hoping for. The tahdig, as pictured, it's not a tahdig at all! Both the ghormeh sabzi and gheimeh were more like bland soups with little flavor. The only positive thing was the staff, who were friendly.

The first time I ever had sangak was today at Asal. I had no idea this bread even existed and now I want no other for the rest of my life! The people who work here are so kind and friendly and were very gracious to me when I stopped by today to buy the sangak to go. I'll be returning soon for a meal, if they can make bread like this I can't wait to try their food.
