5 Stars – A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering!
If you’re in the mood for an authentic, no-frills taco experience, this little taqueria is a must-visit. Tucked away and easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, this place has all the charm of a classic hole in the wall—and that’s what makes it special.
The tacos here are simple but satisfying. The carne asada and al pastor are the stars of the show, served up on freshly made tortillas that hold their own. Don’t expect anything fancy; instead, expect bold, comforting flavors that remind you why street-style tacos are always a good idea. The salsas are fresh, with options for every palate, though I’d love to see an extra fiery one in the lineup.
What really sets this spot apart is the warmth of the owner, Marlo. He treats every customer like family, making sure you feel right at home. The service is genuine, friendly, and fast, even if the place is bustling—which, trust me, it often is.
Sure, it’s not perfect, but that’s part of the charm. The atmosphere is laid-back, with mismatched tables and a menu handwritten on a chalkboard, and the smell of sizzling meat wafting from the open kitchen. It’s the kind of place you go when you want a true local experience, and it never disappoints in that department.
Do yourself a favor and swing by for some tacos and a taste of authentic hospitality. You’ll leave with a happy stomach and a smile, already planning...

I always get the veggie tacos and this is always such a great veggie meal to get. Three of them are 12 bucks. There’s a hard shell option that’s soooo crunchy and tasty They’re filled with beans AND rice which I LOVE. Love me some Spanish rice. There’s a big ole dollop of guac, tomato and lettuce on the side so you can fill these crunchalicious shells up to your hearts desire. They give you sour cream and cheese on the side so you can choose to add those in (I love me some SC) (yeah I know what you’re thinking, I’m super American) They gotchu with the sauce (I looove their verde) They also give you onions on the side. I stuff my shells and still have leftover yummy guac/lettuce combo so I dump my verde on it and have a delish little taco salad after I nom my shells. All the folks that work there are SO SWEET and nice! They have Elysian Space Dust on tap. They’re open later than most spots in Sherman oaks. Overall, this single meal makes this place so great to me. I order it all the time. Thank you...
Read moreMiserable and utterly awful experience at this location. If you make the profound error in judgment of deciding to eat here (which I periodically do but won't again) please prepare in advance for the visit by bringing your own mayonnaise - apparently there is a mayonnaise drought in the San Fernando Valley this year and you need to PAY EXTRA FOR A TABLESPOON OF MAYO if you want some. Of course this odd shortage seems to only be taking place at Cactus Taqueria #4 and only if the wicked witch of the west manager is present. The cashier was apologizing profusely for this unimaginably negligent and incompetent blond female manager but to no avail. At least they refunded my $17.31 - winning the battle and losing the war - over a table spoon of mayo. I'll take my Taco business elsewhere. Stay away from this place. They don't deserve the...
