There are few things in life that make me feel truly alive: fresh sheets, a good hair day, and the cream top on my JBS latte from File Systems of Coffee.
I don’t know what kind of magic is happening behind that bar, but this cream top is seductive. Silky, velvety, a little cold, a little sweet—it kisses the top of the espresso like it knows exactly what it’s doing. I take one sip and suddenly I’m blushing. It’s giving foreplay.
And just when you think it can’t get better… there’s Royce, the owner. Warm smile, soft voice, and the kind of energy that makes you want to tell him your whole life story before your order’s even ready. He’s the reason this place doesn’t feel like just a coffee shop—it feels like a little pocket of peace. Like your favorite secret.
The shop itself is cozy and unpretentious, just the way I like it. No corporate coldness, no fake smiles—just great coffee, real people, and cream tops that should probably come with a warning label.
I only let myself go on weekends, which honestly feels like I’m rationing joy. But that’s what makes it special. It’s my reward, my ritual, my little indulgent affair down the street.
If File Systems ever discontinues the cream top, I will spiral. Until then… I’ll be here. Sipping....
Read moreThis coffee shop carries that name for a reason and I'm totally impressed by the peculiar concept they're trying to offer. Decorated the venue with bunch of old Apple monitors, probably some of the earliest generations, which look like still able to be used.
Plenty of seats available, with most of them come with low coffee table, as it's gonna say that the place is more created for casual hangouts than people sit and work or study.
They offer handful selection of pastries, which will still be complete if you come relatively early or at least before noon. I went for their Miso butterscotch cookie, which again was uncommon here in LA. I love the overall taste and the cookie came in right gooeyness level, but I wouldn't call it my fave. Besides, I could taste more of white chocolate than either butterscotch or miso. Not complaining though!
The highlight was doubtlessly their Japanese Black Sugar a.k.a JBL Latte. Precise level of sweetness with bold coffee flavor. I loved the aroma as well as the taste, perfectly suited my coffee preference. My friend had their Mocha and she said one of her most...
Read morethis is truly one of my favourite coffee shops. they have amazing coffee and matcha (which is my go-to) which makes the price worth it also they don't charge for milk subs. the ambiance is retro-futuristic. it also has indoor/outdoor seating, free wifi, and great music (typically soulection). what makes this place so special for patrons, who are regulars like myself, is the authenticity and attentiveness from the staff (shoutout daniel, gabby, nastasia - literally the shop is nothing without them). ever since i first came into the shop, they genuinely care about how you are and how they can provide you with the best cafe experience. they are all very passionate about the shop, coffee, and interpersonal relationships - it's very beautiful to see and it encourages such a light energy than other shops i've been to. because of this, their patrons are also very kind and open as well (i've met so many special people through at this shop).
this is the textbook definition of a exceptional third space and i'm thankful to frequent here and have my "local coffee shop." can't...
