At first thought this was an abandoned building. Surprised when someone opened the door Although clean and vermin free felt like 3rd world country. No heat in the rooms but they gave us a blanket. Very old and worn. The Terra Cotta tile floor is broken and it trips us. Small double bed, decent with decent pillows. No phone in room so no directory to order food delivery. No food on site except small vending machine with chips, candy and soda. Surprise though...a flat screen TV with ROKU only. Restroom looks like a new toilet, new cabinet sink (tiny) and new matching medicine cabinet. Four packs of hair conditioner, no soap. Skimpy bath towels. Mismatched curtains. Small, old, painted chest of drawers for clothes. People screaming and arguing during the night Would NOT recommend.

It’s not the Hilton but for the price ....can’t beat it. Room was clean no carpet. I hate carpet in a hotel room. Had a whole lil kitchen.Bed was comfortable and clean and all white linen. Hate colorful bedspreads can’t tell if it’s clean. It was a basement room so phone had no service but free WiFi so that was cool. Window was like 7 feet up the wall so yeah non existent but I didn’t come for a view. Had a window ac worked good it was in the 90s. I would definitely stay again.

The free WiFi was pretty terrible, almost unusable. The bed was also very uncomfortable. They offered free breakfast in the morning, but that only consisted of two choices of cereal, pudding cups, and coffee. While our overall experience was poor, the fair was very cheap. I guess you get what you pay for.

We paid good money but beware if the Treacherous ways of how Vincent the clerk/ Residential manager and owner that goes by the name of “Candy” . Vincent is an older man who is required to wear hearing aid , and because he chooses not too, leaves him being very loud and somewhat Aggressive . They have a lawyer who has been disbarred for misconduct and now works for Monterey inn which , Tim Thurman helps Monterey inn defraud IRS , and unemployment by not paying into unemployment let them know how many people are employed by Monterey Inn Preforming certain services known to be unethical and have undocumented people , one in Particular has been staying at this Commercial business/ hotel that isn’t an extended stay for 30 years!!! (YES YOU READ CORRECT) some others 9 years , 15 years , ect. This place attracts people on drugs . They experience break/Ins as far as people who Vincent have let in while they could pay , has broken in after the fact High of crystal meth stolen TVs Most of all Monterey Inn clerk Vincent and owner “Candy” Forged Receipts of guest Signature, after the guest paid with credit card , to the point Harbor city police department had to file report. With current investigations on going . They charge sale tax thru internet booking , but once paying daily the rates are whatever Vincent or Tim Thurman thinks should be charged. Also be aware of Tim Thurman who Double charge even when you have booked and paid on line. Room 3 has such bad mold health department needs to be called . Also Monterey Inn claimed they would be closing due to covid19 In April 2020 , lying about the city of Los Angeles and Government ordinance on a Falsified notice posted throughout the building stating due to (CARONA) yes they spelled it wrong just like that , all guest had to find another place. After weeks of staying . I wish I could post all the videos so you all can see what devil’s nest Monterey Inn is and either save more money if you have too Before traveling or if you have it spend it on another location. Monterey Inn unethically Ran and should...

Awesome little placed tucked away from the madness of L.A., the staff were wonderful and provided a very homely feel to this 35(I think) bedroom hotel. The area is quite industrial however connections to the big interstates are about a 5 minute drive away which serviced us very well for visiting more popular sites in L.A., this place is an absolute gem and for the price, is greatly beneficial on the wallet! We absolutely loved staying here and would highly recommend this place to most people! We have given this hotel 4 stars purely because there appears to be no cleaning of the room whilst we have stayed here. I note that this was surprising at first however you quickly learn from the friendly and helpful reception staff/hotel staff that it is because it is considered a self service where you can do washing on premises and are asked to take bins out as and when required. The cleaners do cpean all the common areas etc and will clean bed linen following your stay but this is one to be aware of if you are not already! The room has all amenities as you would expect and includes a cooker, microwave, fridge freezer and storage cupboards! As a couple, the rooms were perfectly sized! The air conditioning is a little noisy and you get the odd hoot of the harbour horns throughout the night so you should be advised that ear plugs are helpful for a cool and restful night!! That being said, in my book, charm, character, genuine feel of a place and creating a homely atmousphere are the most important things for any stay at any resort, hotel, motel and therefore I would always highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to discover L.A./...

More than hatred this place deserves 0 Stars or negative Stars. Staff was unfriendly and uncooperative they messed up my reservation and made me pay more for it. When I was trying to get it resolved through the travel agency (Agoda) I used they call the hotel to resolve the issue but the hotel continually hung up with them to the point the travel agency had to use me as the communication between them and the hotel continued to be uncooperative. There was no notification and either email or anywhere that there is $100 deposit needed (credit card or cash only) upon check-in. The stove keep trying to light itself by clicking and they said that was normal when I brought it up to them. They were closed New Year's Day and I had to call the number 4 times before they could check me out I strongly recommend not staying here pay the extra and stay somewhere decent it was only slightly better than stay on the street. When taking a shower water was fluctuating in temperature when I wasn't turning the knobs and no power in the in the sink which by the way is right next to where I was supposed to sleep like less than two inches away from my head very tacky if you ask me. There were rips in the curtains and you could hear everything through the walls. The complimentary breakfast is disgusting what looked like week old muffins and donuts. Had no decent channels on the Direct TV and the TV was only like 12 inches.

DON'T STAY HERE. Most pics r not...
