AVOID MANAGER SAMUEL! I've had to complain to Jack corporate because of this store. While the staff is mostly consistently rude, I return for convenience. However, this time was too much.
I went in to buy a grilled breakfast sandwich and tried to pay with EBT, but Samuel the manager said that the card wasn't working. I asked him to try again, and he said it still wasn't working. This was strange to me, because I had literally just come from 7-eleven where I used the card successfully and still had a $255 balance on it in Food Stamps.
He said that 4 people had come in before me to pay with EBT and it was fine, so the issue wasn't on their end. I told him that if it was working this morning, and now it is not, then it could be that the EBT system has gone down. Again, I had just used my card 20 minutes before at 7-eleven no problem. I asked him to try one more time, and it still didn't go through.
Throughout the course of this, Samuel offered no advice or thoughts on problem solving the situation. He refused to make any effort to troubleshoot or problem solve. Instead, he assertively repeated that my card was the only problem that there could be.
Well, I knew something was off. I proceeded to IMMEDIATELY drive to the next nearest Jack In The Box which is at Winnetka and Ventura Blvd. I ordered the sandwich, and paid with EBT NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER.
So I took the food and receipt, got back in my car, and went back to that first Jack in the Box off of Fallbrook Ave. and Ventura Blvd. When I walked in, I saw that another man was trying to buy something with his EBT card, and guess what? IT WASN'T WORKING.
I confronted Samuel, I showed him my new receipt and sandwich was purchased with EBT no problem. NOT ONCE did he even look up at me in the eye while I was talking. Instead, he just said "sure." Again, zero eye contact.
The guy who was trying to pay with EBT told me it wasn't Samuel, that it was the system that was broken. I said I know that. That's what this is all about.
I asked Samuel if he could at least say sorry to me for accusing my card of being faulty, when he didn't perform as a manager and troubleshoot all issues. That is the core of this entire complaint.
Instead of just admitting guilt, saying sorry, and thereby concluding this fiasco, he simply refused to say sorry. I told him, look, I am the customer, you are the manager and representative of Jack in the Box. Just say sorry and I will leave and this is all done.
He did not say sorry, and did not even look at me during this entire 3 - minute encounter.
I didn't want food, or anything free. All I wanted was for him as a manager was to a)troubleshoot and think outside the box to help resolve customer issues, and b) say sorry for making a simple mistake.

Read moreHorrible. Disrespectful staff. I went through the drive through and ordered a combo meal and a cheesecake. I drove away and less th azznd a block away I realized that they forgot my fries. Wasn't a big deal to me but since I paid for them I wanted to get them. I drove back and went inside. I brought my receipt to the counter with my bag of food and told them I did not get my fries. The employee named Anna made a big deal of it and claimed that she put the fries in there and claimed I was just trying to scam some free French fries but she was going to give me some more anyway. I then went gave them all the food back and even went to my car to get the Coke and told her I wanted ALL my money back since the order was un touched. She wss very nasty and said 'whatever ' I don't really even like French fries very much but I DEFINITELY will not tolerate that kind of abuse from anybody. Read moreI went there at 1 pm to get a carry out for the 2 pieces french toast sticks platter with bacon combo. The Jack in the Box closest to me doesn’t even off this item so I have to drive farther for it which is fine.
The order taker/cashier was magnificent. She was efficient, friendly, spoke perfect English and very helpful. I used a coupon. She rang it up. In less than 10 minutes I was out of the door. The Food is consistently good. The service impeccable. The dining room is spacious and clean.
No complaints. All good. Will come again...
