LA | Woodland Hills | Anarbagh Indian Curry

If you’re looking for a place that will blow your taste buds away and leave you dreaming about your next visit, this Indian restaurant is it! From the moment you walk in, the warm aroma of spices wraps around you like a hug. The vibe is cozy but vibrant — perfect for both a casual night out or a special dinner. Let’s talk about the food — absolutely incredible. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and full of deep, layered flavor. The garlic naan was soft, hot, and had just the right crisp around the edges. I also tried the palak paneer, which was so fresh and full of that earthy spinach flavor, perfectly balanced by the soft paneer cubes. Every dish felt made with love and care. The spice level was just right — flavorful without being overwhelming — but they’re happy to adjust it to your preference. The mango lassi? Ice-cold, creamy, and refreshing — the perfect way to cool down between bites. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which added to the experience. They answered all our questions and gave great recommendations. Overall, this place is a gem. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable meal. 10/10 — can’t wait to come back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A True Gem of Indian Cuisine! Dining at Anarbagh is always an incredible experience. From the moment you step inside, the warm hospitality makes you feel like family. The atmosphere is cozy yet elegant, with the aromas of freshly prepared spices filling the air and setting the perfect tone for what’s to come. The food is absolutely outstanding. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor—rich, aromatic curries, perfectly spiced tandoori, and naan so soft and buttery you’ll want to order extra. The ingredients taste fresh, and the balance of spices shows true culinary mastery. Their chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo are unforgettable, and the vegetarian options are just as satisfying and creative. What sets Anarbagh apart, though, is the attention to detail. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, always ready with recommendations and happy to accommodate any request. Service is quick, portions are generous, and you can taste the care put into every plate. Whether you’re new to Indian food or a longtime fan, Anarbagh is a must-visit. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s an experience that leaves you planning your next visit

Don't believe the reviewer who said that Anarbargh was his "worst dining experience forever." My guess is that it was posted by a competitor. Have a look at the major review websites and you'll see that Anarbagh is very highly rated by most customers, to say nothing of newspapers and restaurant polls that call the restaurant either the best in all of LA or something close to it.

I've been eating at Anarbagh for at least a decade, and what they serve is the best Indian food I've ever had ANYWHERE, at any price. Their lunch specials are substantial, they include excellent soup and a large piece of very tasty Naan (I prefer it to rice)-- and the price is dirt cheap! My own favorite lunch special is a standard with me, Lamb Curry, and never has it ever been less than delicious. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the ambiance is much better than average (I take my girlfriends there for a good first-date impression!), and the cleanliness is excellent. I should mention that I was there earlier today, and I ordered a glass of their house red wine. It was an exceptionally good wine, and I'll ask them the wine's label and type when I'm next there, probably within the next week.

I wish there were some way to assure you in person how good this place really is, but if I gave out my contact info it would be quickly abused by rogue data mining bots. What you may want to try is to look up my name in the phone book or Google it for a phone number. If you call, please remind me that your call is for my assessment of Anarbagh restaurant. Suffice it to say that if you eat at Anarbagh, especially for their lunch specials, you are in for a...

Anarbagh has gone downhill quite a bit (and I am a 20+ yr customer). Today I ordered lunch to go and they forgot a key item. Worse, the food was the worst Indian food I've had. The Saag Daal had gone bad and was sour.

Because I care about this place as a long-time patron, I actually went back with the food. This is where it gets worse. I asked for manager and it is clear that they don't have any clear responsibilities. Two different people asked me what I wanted and that they could help me and when I told them, they walked away. Finally a third person called Rajom came and advised me that the manager wasn't in. I told him the problem and he did not make it right. Because this was a delivery order, he asked me to call them for a refund. I told him this was a restaurant issue and not theirs. He then said he can give me the same order now, and I told him the occasion had passed but he was welcome to do something else. He had no other option. The amazing thing is he didn't even apologize for the bad order and food, even after I told him I was a long-time customer. There was absolutely no empathy whatsoever.

There were a number of options he could have offered, but he didn't. He didn't even ask me my name or phone number to have someone call me back. He could have also offered a free meal the next time since I didn't need it this time.

Missing items, bad food and terrible service. That sums it up.

They've lost a good...

I was completely disappointed with this place, I don't understand its popularity. I visited it with my family the other day. It's a very gloomy dark place, it's very uncomfortable inside. My husband ordered lamb, and I ordered fish. The presentation of the dishes was not bad, but in the evening after the restaurant I felt sick, vomited and had diarrhea. I attribute this to the spoiled fish, but under the mixture of sauces in the restaurant I didn't feel the spoiled rotten fish. I also gave the fish to my 3 year old son. It was terrible, we suffered from an upset stomach all night. I'm just shocked how the waiter could recommend spoiled fish to a child, I had to call an ambulance for him that night. I also noticed that the waiter was constantly near our table and constantly looked at how I ate, it's very depressing and it's unpleasant to eat in such an environment. It felt like they were asking for tips, when we asked for the bill, several waiters came and stood around our table and literally looked into the folder to see how much we left. This is very incompetent and intrusive. Sorry, but I consulted a lawyer and am forced to file a lawsuit to compensate me for damages and pay for calling an ambulance for my son. I highly do not recommend this restaurant. Be careful when ordering food and always ask for it to be fresh, especially if you are on holiday...
