Worst experience ever with a Filipino restaurant! I usually go to Tita Celia's in Carson. But I was exploring with a friend and told her Filipino was delicious. So she decided to try. First off the fat big eyeballed crappy attitude lady behind the counter where the food under the light was is just RUDE! She looked irritated to be there let alone help us. She never greeted us. I smiled and said hello and she said nothing but looked annoyed to be working. I asked for lumpias and she said how much? I asked if they sold them as sets such as like 5 for $3.00 or so. She was pissed and replied "so that's all you want!" I decided to not order them and went with a beef stew dish and rice. I had 1 scoop of rice, 1 scoop of the beef stew and 1 canned soda. My total = $10.00. I asked the nice old woman at the register if the price was correct? She said yes. We sat down and as I ate the beef stew I noticed it had a foul smell. I bit it and it was tough and tasted spoiled! I see the fat rude lady eating off of the hot food under the light as she is preparing them! So disgusting and unsanitary! I will never go back here! If you want reasonable, home cooked, unspoiled meat and excelelnt customer service from a Filipino restaurant... Go to TITA CELIA'S in CARSON. They smile and the food is fresh and delicious! They are...
Read moreThis restaurant is our to go place when we want to eat Authentic Filipino Food. The quality of their food is A1 and there’s a lot of Menu Selection from Veggies to Meat to Seafood and they have BBQ Skewers too. I tried different Filipino Restaurant but this place stands the most… some food in other restaurants looks good but when you eat it you will just say “It’s okay food but you will not come back unless that place is the last option” but this place you will look forward to be here again ordering your food 😃👍. Here in Kubo Restaurant everything is freshly made and the service is tough notch- very friendly & smiling people and welcoming 😀😃.
Also, if you are craving for known Filipino Dishes especially during breakfast time which I do 😀 they have a good selections like Tapsilog, Bangsilog, Tocilog, Cornedsilog (Corned Beef), etc. I normally passed by this area when I used to live in Los Angeles to pickup breakfast before going to work.
The place is clean and well maintained.
I highly recommend this restaurant because you can’t go wrong with the food and you won’t waste your money. They do catering too and they have an outside function area that I think you can rent for your next...
Read moreI went at about 3:00, well after the lunch rush.
There's a huge sign above the entrance that you can see from the street that advertises barbecue sticks for $1. I walked in, and asked for 3 pork sticks. The woman behind the counter sized me up and told me, "they're $1.50 okay?" I really wanted some bbq pork so I let it go.
Then I decided I needed halo halo to beat the heat but this time I wised up and asked the price beforehand while scanning the menu board so she told me $4.50.
I brought my little ticket to cash register and a woman, who I believe was the owner, told me my total was $11. When I questioned it she told me my halo halo was $5 and I should somehow be charged $2 extra dollars in tax.
I looked at her in disbelief so she gave me $.50 off.
My food was C+ and the attempt to totally pull the wool over my eyes makes me give this...
