Traditional Salvadorean Cuisine in the SFV✨
Our first time trying Salvadorean food at this family owned restaurant in Reseda.
Carlos gave us some great recommendations so we ended up trying pupusas for the first time. It’s made with a homemade corn dough. It’s thicker than a regular corn tortilla and stuffed with ground pork and cheese. They have a variety of fillings. You can add salsa roja, a flavorful tomato-based sauce or habanero sauce. Served with Curtido, a tangy, fermented cabbage slaw. So crispy, cheesy and filling. It came burning hot - I could barely hold it. 😂 But, I would definitely order this again! ☺️
We tried Desayuno Típico, a traditional Salvadoran breakfast, which came with casamiento (beans and rice mixed together), Salvadorean style chorizo, fried plantains, 2 eggs, avocado, fresh cheese and Salvadorean style sour cream and homemade corn tortillas.

Read moreThis place is very tasty and reasonably priced. We had the #2 Breakfast, which is casamiento, Salvadoran style chorizo, 2 eggs, avocado, fresh cheese, and Salvadoran style sour cream and it was delicious, especially the chorizo, which was not greasy at all, very flavorful, and formed like a sausage. The casamiento is also very good and it comes with 2 very fresh housemade tortillas. We also had the Waffle Platter, which comes with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and house potatoes, which was all perfect, and the waffle was exactly as it should be, thick but fluffy, and crispy on the outside. We had the bean, cheese, and pork papusa, it was perfect, and so was the salsa roja and curtido (cabbage slaw). We will definitely come back for the #2 Breakfast, that chorizo and casamiento, plus fresh tortillas was amazing, and so was the papusa. The person working was also...
Read moreSurprisingly delicious homemade style food! the melon tasted so fresh and almost without added sugar. We found that the garlic shrimp was an excellent gluten free option. And the seafood soup was thick with ingredients. Would come back to eat that here again.
Our group unanimously said that we’d eat here again!
the sauce that came with my meat pay and revuelto was tasted kinda tomato like. And we enjoyed their pickled cabbage and tomato on the side.
There were no prices on their menus so the total was on the higher end. But we felt it was worth the quality of their higher quality taste.
Note:
Paying through ZELLE was a little inconvenient because of the pending status.
Around 2pm on Sunday expect really loud worship music pumping through the wall.
their bathroom is marked as out of order but turns out that...
