I recently visited Mami King based on a recommendation from a friend. This restaurant used to be their favorite spot when they lived in Panorama City, and it's still a go-to when they visit family. Despite the distance, they make it a point to dine in or grab takeout from here.
I was excited to try out the food and was not disappointed. The Tokwa't Baboy was a definite highlight, and the chicken and rice combo was delicious, especially with that amazing sauce. The Kikiam was also a must-try and didn't disappoint.
I was also impressed with the Patatim, which I ordered to go. It was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. The restaurant has ample parking, which is always a plus, and it's great to see that they've started accepting credit cards as a mode of payment.
The only downside to my experience was that the restaurant has limited space to dine in. However, it's worth it to visit and eat here, and I can see why my friend always makes a point to come back.
Overall, I highly recommend Mami King for anyone looking for authentic Filipino food. Whether you're dining in or taking out, you won't be disappointed. I hope to be back soon to try out more...
Read moreThere are those of you who follow my reviews who aren’t going to be surprised that I am at yet another mom and pop shop or hole in the wall. My Dad began to teach me how to cook when I was 9 years old and one of the things he drilled into me was. “ People can see how much you care about them by the effort you put into the food you prepare for them.” I have been cooking professionally for a few decades now and I have come to cherish places like this that put so much care and love into everything they prepare. You can feel it from the warm greeting to the obnoxiously good food that they place in front of you. I have been wanting to try Mami King since I first saw a photo of the lechón plate that I ordered today. The skin was super crispy and I loved the way the bit of fat melted in my mouth . The rice was perfectly steamed and fluffy. It paired well with the small green salad on the side. There is no doubt that I...
Read moreI love home-y feeling restaurants and this specific place reminds me of a place I'd go to as a kid with my parents. The place itself is small but just the right space for the home-y vibes. The server was super sweet and patient with taking and serving my order.
I ordered the pork sisig, two asado siopaos, two orders of rice, and sago't gulaman for a drink. The siopaos came first and they were great! Meaty and not too much bread. The sisig was served on a sizzling stone plate! Love that! (The only way to serve it, in my opinion) The sago't gulaman was also good.
I loved this place a lot! Will most definitely be coming back and recommending Mami King...
