Worst experience of my life. Everyone there should be fired.

First you are greeted by an odd bartender with a bad attitude. As if working at a restaurant in the valley is somehow fancy enough to be spoken down to by staff. Strike 1. We let it pass.

We wait literally 30 minutes while we get a single aperitif offered. No follow up on additional drinks, no service, nothing. Strike 2.

Next, two other people come out, equally bad attitude. At this point, I’m thinking it’s part of the show. But yeah, still at a restaurant above a hookah lounge in the valley…

They all begin conversing and staring at us super creepily. Now we are all super uncomfortable. When I say all, I mean our group and all of the other guests there.

It turns out that one of the staff, who got caught stealing liquor from our friends the last time they were there (and got reprimanded by the head chef), basically decided that she would cancel us, and caused an incident that we all watched. Instead of removing her from the premises, we were instead asked to leave. Strike 3… for us apparently… (again, worst and strangest experience ever)…

Nobody even spoke to her, the whole waiting room watched this snowflake have an meltdown, and then instead of removing her from the premises, they asked us to leave. Yes. They kicked us out instead of seating us. After waiting 30 minutes there… in front of all of the other guests… and the ironic part is, after watching this, others left also.

I guess after getting caught stealing, this was her revenge. But in the end, she still works in an overpriced overrated restaurant in the valley which should be avoided at all costs.

This is after they begged our friends to come back because the last time after one of them got food poisoning, and of course the alcohol theft incident.

I hope management, and the head chef who caught her last time, reads this and immediately terminates her and her two cronies.

We are still exploring options as this has caused us all extremely emotional distress.

We did the New years ever omakasi here and as usual everything was on point. The experience begins with entering into the welcome bar where you receive a welcome drink which was lovely Japanese whiskey cocktail, that was refreshing and delicious. Once the rest of the ten person seating guests arrived we received two opening appetizers that were both amazing and delicate . Once entering into the main sushi bar we negotiated what we were going to drink, we went for the special sake pairing, there was also a whiskey tasting and cocktails as well as beers. This was a great idea because the sakes truly were paired with perfection and described with a true knowledge of the notes we were going to get and the effects it would have on what we were going to be eating and he couldn't have been more accurate. The tasting was 17 coarses 16 pieces of sushi and one desert . Every coarse was a masterfully crafted and layered work of art that when put into your mouth you immediately try to figure out how to keep it there forever so you don't have to swallow it and it just disappears forever. I love coming here because I'm never disappointed where so many times at other sushi bars I will get something that's too fishy or the uni isn't fresh or something is just ok. Here it's perfect every time and always a night to remember. Thank you to the the staff and chefs who work so hard to make this an experience to remember you truly are...
