So I walked into this restaurant for the 1st time, and our waitress, Carmen, immediately made the experience stressful and unfriendly. 🙄 Before my husband and I even sat down at the table, this waitress shrieked at us and demand we give her our drink selection, Twice before we sat down ! So she was asking what we wanted to drink—without giving us a chance to look at the menu. When we tried to order drinks that weren’t available, she finally provided the list of available drinks, but then took the menu away before we could even look at food selection. Realizing she took away the menus, She had to give it back, saying we might need more time to decide. How can I decide something when I did not even look at the menu ??! Her whole attitude and unprofessionalism were so bad, I almost wanted to walk out right away from the restaurant. Customer service from Carmen is very poor, and I would not recommend her at all as a waitress. I’ve noticed She even rushed other customers, even though the restaurant was not busy—our table was the third in the restaurant when we came. I had to ask other waitress to serve us.

Thankfully, Elaine took over and made our experience enjoyable and satisfactory. She was very attentive, brought hot food promptly, refilled drinks on time, offered helpful suggestions for main course with details, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and even sauces that comes with the dish. First I would like to start with the customer service. The young lady working in there yesterday July 26, 2023 in the afternoon is rude and her customer service puts a stain on there business I would love to talk to the owner regarding that particular person. As far as food the sizzling rice soup was overly saturated with mushrooms and no flavor on top of that they give small bags of rice that are not nearly enough for the soup. I asked for a larger portion I'll pay for and was instantly met with attitude by young lady I was refuse to go back as long as she is working that establishment.... she is a young lady with a disgusting attitude. I hope you all make a change...

China Garden is definitely my go-to Chinese place when in Los Banos. The staff are always very friendly and the food is almost always served at an efficient pace. The food itself, is always flavorful, cooked just right, and the portions are definitely generous enough. I always like to order my chow mein in a very specific way and they always accommodate it with no questions asked. The atmosphere is pretty simple, clean and usually quiet during the weekdays, but don't be surprised to see the place busy during dinner time.
