I used to love Casa de Benavidez. I grew up on it and remember the carry out building before it was remodeled... ages ago. This place has absolutely tanked. First let's start with service. The kids they have working in carry out have no concept of customer service. I don't expect much. I definitely don't expect to feel like an inconvenience when I order something - but that's how I feel when I order from here. Next, the prices are absolutely absurd. A breakfast burrito is 9 dollars... And if you want to add cheese, that throws the cost over 10 bucks. The drinks are overpriced, and no... It does not include any refills. I can sort of justify paying 3 or 4 bucks for a soda if I get refills, but a single serve? It feels borderline greedy. Comparing my breakfast burrito with Blake's which is half the price, larger in size and better tasting - the choice is obvious. Money is tight for everyone right now and no one wants to feel ripped off over a simple breakfast burrito. Maybe things will change at Casa, maybe not. I would like to still have hope as they have been a staple in the community for as long as I can remember.

My family had a belated Father’s Day’s celebration at Casa Benavidez. Everything was amazing. The hostess Christy went above and beyond to greet and seat us. Jessica, our server was friendly and took great care of our table of five. Three of us ordered the chimichanga (one carne adovada and two chunky beef) with no regrets. So delicious. My mom ordered the beef fajita stuffed sopapilla and my partner destroyed the cheese enchiladas as you can tell from the half eaten plate. Everything was delicious. Thank you so much to the amazing staff and manager-Margie for the wonderful experience. ♥️ Please be patient as they have limited staff so seating and the food might take a tiny bit longer but it is absolutely worth it. Also check their hours which are abbreviated as they are closed on Sundays and close early at 1 pm on Saturdays. I encourage you to sit on the beautiful patio or in the enclosed section with a gorgeous view of the green courtyard. Don’t forget to say hi to the koi, as the pond is my favorite spot. Enjoy your own adventure and bring your loved ones.

Went in for lunch close to noon on a Monday. We had to wait a few minutes before being called and we were seated at the outdoor patio. It is a fresh luscious environment with a water feature and plants galore. We were served drinks quickly as we went over the menu. My wife got the Monday lunch special, a large plate with a combo stuffed sopapilla covered with green chile and sides of papitas and beans. I ordered the fajita burrito, it was a loosely wrapped tortilla with fajita inside. The green chile was on the side and no cheese. I'm used to a burrito being broiled with sauce on top and the cheese melted with it to make a delightful dish, but this was their version. I still gobbled it up! The sopapillas were yummy with real honey. We will visit again. Also, they have a coffee shop for cheaper dining in as well as a take out window!

There are two entrances, the one next to parking was a very cheap restaurant where I'd expect to pay $8-10 a person on food and wonder the whole time if the kitchen were clean, apparently that's the takeout seating area. Entering on the other side of the building next to the road was better, we came into a waiting area with seating and restrooms but since there was no wait around 3pm we were seated right away in a small dining area with big greenhouse windows along the south wall. It was absolutely beautiful outside, truly breathtaking, though we couldn't be seated outside with unpredictable spring winds. This area looked comfortable and the bar was beautiful, well thought out for the small dimensions of the room. Our table was in the middle of the room, others along the walls on each side and everyone spoke so loudly we had to sit in silence to acclimatize to the environment. The food took awhile but the salsa was delicious, just the right amount of heat. We were very hungry so when the food arrived we all dug in, my husband stopped eating his sopapilla burger right away and said there was no flavor in it, looked really sad and tried to keep eating. My daughter didn't like her burger at all either but my fajitas were delicious when the skillet finally cooled enough to eat them. By that time they had each given up on their food and decided to go for a walk together outside, so I ate the other half of their dishes and took my fajitas in a box. I rather liked the sopapilla burger even though the meat was unseasoned, the chile was excellent, though her burger was plain as can be and the fries didn't have any salt or flavor either so I didn't bother with them. Overall it was a pleasant enough experience but I won't be going back. The server was hard to find and I had to ask the bar for ketchup, though when we came in there had been a nice lady who welcomed us and she...

My husband and family would always go here and we love the food. Today was horrible we go in order our food and drinks at the same time, two cokes and a margarita. My husband gets his margarita and the waitress asks us if we were ready to order...again we told her we already order and she said oh yea that's right let me find your order!!!!! We didn't think anything of it because we love this place. We are sitting there for about 20 mins and the table that came in after us got their meals while we are still waiting. I had to ask the bartender if she could get our waitress because at this point we haven't seen her in awhile. She finally comes brings us chips and salsa after waiting 20 minutes that we didn't even order. At that point we wanted to leave the manager Paula came over and said we won't charge you for the food but I'll have to charge you for the drinks. We didn't think that was right but we paid. Paula seemed like she didn't even care she apologized but in the same sentence said she now has to go cancel our meal because we want to leave! I get home and call her and told her how can we make this right we are regular customers and love the food we just didn't like the way we were treated. I told her I don't think we should have paid for the drinks and all she said was we are lucky she didn't make us pay for the chips and salsa. Mind you we didn't even get to eat the chips and salsa because they came out as we were leaving. When I was asking Paula when the owner would be in she hung up on me!! I tried calling again and was just out on hold because she was "with a customer". Horrible customer service we will not be returning they just lost customers that would go every weekend. You go out to eat to enjoy the food and service not to be...

This place is well known for its Sopapilla Burgers. We have been eating those sopapilla burgers for many years. We always get the green chile Sopapilla Burgers. They are so scrumptious. We crave them at times, and then, we just have to go get them. Today, we ate inside of the fancy part of the restaurant. I've always been told that it is more expensive than the carry-out and sit-inside area. When I saw the prices, I believed that they're more expensive. It was way more expensive. The price of the kids menu was ridiculous. We spent a lot of money getting our food because of the prices. Although, the Sopapilla Burger was much more priced then the other side of the restaurant. My mother and I decided to try the red Chile instead of the green we love. To our surprise that was the worst tasting and strongest red chile that my mother and I have ever eaten. It was so strong. We are chile eaters and we know our green chile and we know our red chile. Their green chile is the bomb. The beans were wonderful. The papitas were wonderful. The sopapilla Burger my daughter got was still as scrumptious as ever. The service was just mediocre for that nice expensive side. The busboy kept filling our ice teas and waters and he gave us more salsa and chips. The boy was awesome. We went through two different wait staffs. It was just mediocre, like I said, for the waiter and waitress service we had. To my family, bagged lettuce just ruins everything. To many eating establishments use horrible bagged lettuce instead of fresh anymore. That's sad, because it is a big flavor distraction from what could be...
