Wendy's at 12502 TN-72: A Masterclass in Culinary Neglect and Customer Disregard
If you're seeking a dining experience that perfectly encapsulates the phrase "hot mess," look no further than the Wendy's at 12502 TN-72 in Loudon. My recent visit, a truly baffling display of incompetence and apathy, left me wanting something else and genuinely concerned for the health of anyone foolish enough to eat here.
Arriving at 1:29 PM, I placed my order, optimistic for a quick, satisfying lunch. What I received, 24 agonizing minutes later at 1:53 PM, was anything but. Every single item in my order was STONE COLD. This wasn't "not quite warm"; this might as C well have been "straight from the refrigerator" cold. As someone who has actually worked in fast food, I can confidently state that every single component of my meal was well past any safe hold time. The fries were a cold, greasy testament to their extended purgatory, the burger a chilling reminder of its untimely demise on some distant warming rack (or lack thereof).
The extended wait, while frustrating, would have been forgivable if the food had been fresh. But to wait nearly half an hour for food that was clearly prepared and then forgotten, left to languish until it reached a state of culinary rigor mortis, is simply inexcusable. This isn't just poor service; it's a blatant disregard for food safety and basic quality standards.
The glacial pace of service and the frigid temperatures of the food were not isolated incidents. The dining area was a den of discontent, with numerous other customers visibly angry, their faces mirroring my own growing exasperation. It was clear this wasn't an off day; this was business as usual for a Wendy's utterly failing to live up to even the lowest expectations of a fast-food establishment.
Save yourself the time, the money, and the stomachache. Until this Wendy's undergoes a radical transformation in its management, food preparation, and customer service, consider your appetite warned. There are countless options that can actually deliver on the promise of hot, fresh food in a timely manner. This Wendy's, unfortunately, is not...
Read moreI don’t often post negative reviews…I have a lot of empathy for people in the service industry, but today’s experience appears to be a systemic issue. My food quality and taste was good—it should be as it was cooked to order.
This particular location appeared to have staffing issues today. However, I think the wiser decision for management would have been to close the store and not subject their customers to ridiculous wait times.
I entered the drive thru line at 11:40; I was unable to leave until 12:05. Because of the drive thru design, I did not have the option to exit the line once I realized the wait times were going to be unreasonable.
Instead, I was forced to wait in line behind other, similarly frustrated customers for my chance to get through the line.
To even further my frustration, my food was finally handed out the window, but the cashier didn’t bother to hang around to make sure I had everything I needed. So of course, I had to wait an additional five minutes for someone to come back to the window and see why I was still there waiting…for the sauce packs that I had requested when ordering.
I understand how a lack of staffing will affect production. I would recommend that management be quicker to recognize that the customer experience is going to be so drastically affected that it makes more sense to close down the store. If you made it this far down in my review…thanks for taking the time to read it. I am hoping there will be something positive to come...
Read moreChicken nuggets were overcooked and crunchy beyond edibility. Ordered two orders of spicy nuggets and one order of regular nugget four pieces and got the complete opposite in my bag of two regular overcooked nuggets and one delicious fresh batch of four piece spicy nuggets. ordered a triple cheeseburger plain, and received a small Junior burger with everything upon it. Did not receive my Coca-Cola from the window.before coming through the drive-thru, ran into a truck driver who they would not serve by walking through the window. Took this man through the drive-thru. Feel like this act of denying a man who is working all night at a labor intensive job on the road was very wrong. Should really check your policies on this, because I think you could have handled the situation more professionally. Also did not get a receipt, and was on my way home at 11:30 at night so I did not have time to return through the drive-thru window and fix this piss-poor example of fast food. if I could give negative stars for this experience I...
