Best Wok — Restaurant in Louisiana

Phone receptionist had a very thick accent which made reserving and ordering quite difficult. Strangely enough almost every second word sounded like a swear but that could just be my ears deceiving me.

When we arrived we were greeted by a very mouthy staff member and the whole atmosphere overall was quite chaotic, but I assume that's part of the oriental theme/culture.

The food experience was certainly unique, however the meat was a bit questionable and the vegetables were what could only be described as months past their expiration date. The strange squealing sounds coming from the kitchen didn't ease my concern either.

Staff does however turn a blind eye to dine and dashers.. or anything for that matter, which is a redeeming factor i suppose. Not that the food nor service warrants any payment to begin with.

They also showed strange and unwarranted hostility towards my wife of Japanese descent.

I really wanted to like this place because it's close to my house. But it just was not good. I ordered the sesame chicken lunch, which came with fried rice and an egg roll. I also ordered fried dumplings. Everything tasted slightly burnt. No great flavor on anything. It just tasted like food made by people who didn't care what their food tasted like. There was no love or attention put into the food.

Another big negative for me was the aesthetic. I don't expect a mainly to-go Chinese place to be fancy and super put together, but the place felt dingy and sparse. When I came in to take an order for a DoorDash delivery, two men and a woman were laughing and harassing the customer service lady behind the desk for being hard of hearing, hard of seeing, and unable to understand their requests easily due to a language barrier. I found these customers to be completely rude and unruly, and felt terrible for the worker. She was very kind and quick at getting the DoorDash order to me, which helps me have happy customers. If you see this, I am so sorry about those customers behavior. You did not deserve them laughing at you and harassing you while you were trying to do your job.
