My recent visit to Bobby's Seafood for their much-acclaimed boiled crawfish turned out to be a gastronomic success story. I got a hefty five-pound order, from which I meticulously peeled 136 tails, encountering only one questionable contender – a testament to the quality and care put into each batch.

This endeavor yielded an impressive 27.2 tails per pound, a figure that speaks volumes about the generous portions and the meatiness of the crawfish served at Bobby’s.

The fruits of my labor were twofold: two cups of succulent crawfish tails ready to be transformed into various delectable recipes and sixteen cups of rich crawfish shells, earmarked for a flavorful stock.

Giving 3 stars because of the awesome staff. They're always so friendly. However, the size of the fresh, (refreshed) shrimp seems to be misteptesented. I used to be in the wholesale seafood industry, and I think they, or their supplier is not selling the accurate count we're supposed to be paying for. Also, I dont expect something for nothing...really! But, the last two visits, (occurred since the new owner) I was buying 5 lbs of shrimp. The kind and attentive lady weighed out 5 lbs...exactly and it drained...while she weighed out the next customer's requested order. My drained shrimp now weighing far less than 5 lbs was quickly wrapped and bagged. The store was busy with waiting customers, so I didnt say anything about the under weight shrimp. I returned a few days after only because is closer to the house than Michael's Seafood. I needed more shrimp for what I was preparing. The exact same thing happened. Weighed and drained under weight purchase. Both purchases appeared to be smaller than 16-20 count I paid for. More like 21-25 count. Come on Bobby. You have to see it. WOW....that is how I describe my experience with Bobby's Seafood. Their shrimp/ fish poboy was THE GREATEST. I haven't had a poboy in years and am so glad that my daughter recommended it. I appreciate that they do not skimp on the shrimp and fish and they have reasonable prices. Also, it is very customer oriented and has the friendliest staff who will recommend items to try when you are unsure about what to order. They actually make their own homemade onion rings, which my family raved about. At the cashier's urging, I also ordered an egg roll, which was a meal in itself. This egg roll tasted like a crawfish etouffee meal encased in an egg roll wrapper. They also sell fresh seafood, boiled crawfish, stuffed crabs and other items. To avoid the wait, which isn't very long, you can call in your order. This isn't a very large place but they do have a few tables where you can sit and wait for your order or just sit and eat in.
