We are usually in town during this time of year. We first started coming to Festival Tacos when they were on the hill in a bigger facility. We came back & had gotten so sad that they closed down. We leave the base pretty often and it never occurred to us that it was right there in front of us! Right down the street! Perfect location, awesome food like duh of course! Drinks are always good, good prices for everything. Only complaint is to get off Hulu during football season. My partner and I had fun eating and drinking here. Fast service, clean bathroom and outdoor sitting. It gets busy that's for sure, friendly faces. Bring your family here. They have birria, it's just not on the menu so ask for it you won't be disappointed!

My first visit here. I had lunch with my daughter and friends. You order at the counter which is a little uncomfortable bc I feel I need to hurry to order. After ordering they give you a number. The ladies that took the orders were friendly. As far as atmosphere, it's a little dark. Seats, walls and counters all black and red. I ordered a Chilie Relleno. My daughter a friends had a taco saled. The food was good except they don't give any salsa with taco saled. Also this Mexican restaurant doesn't bring chips & salsa to table. Would try it again. Parking can be tricky bc it's located near pizza place.

The service was great and the beer was cold. But that's about where the good parts end. There was no AC I was sweating while I ate. The food was not good. At all. I got the fish tacos which had zero flavor. My friends got birria tacos which was such a poor excuse of quesobirria you guys need to just take it off your menu completely. The beans .. well the picture says it all - zero flavor and they dont even put cheese on top. There are better places to stop for Mexican food in the area. Do not go here if you're looking for a satisfying meal.

So I will begin by saying the wait staff is friendly and there is plenty of room on the inside. I will also say that no matter how many times there are reservations for large groups, they are never prepared. The food is the wrong order or undercooked, overcooked and under portioned like hot crispy fries that are raw on the inside or 4 small strips of steak for fajitas and overcooked rice. My favorite thing I heard last night was... this is not your order but if you would like it you can have it or we can make your order properly. I thought this was a joke because the customer waited for 45 minutes to be given this wrong order. Lastly the parking leaves a lot to be desired. Damage to vehicles is very possible with the steepness of the entry and exit not to mention that could almost lose your car in the tall grass if you have to park down below in the back. The drinks from the bar however, are actually really good. This is not just a complaint for last night. This complaint is in addition to each time we have been out there for the four times in the last year. Not much has changed and the options in this town are atrocious. El Flamingo from now on it is! Or Taco Bell for that matter even though they downsized the menu. The two stars is for the bar and The smiling waitresses who are obviously crying on the inside because of the menu...

I was in town for a church anniversary and stopped here for lunch.

I ordered the original chicken fajita meal (4 grilled chicken tenders with onions and peppers) with a lemonade. It came with refried beans, corn tortillas, pico de gallo, rice and cheese.

My daughter had the chicken quesadilla with fries and a lemonade. She got a lot for a kid's meal (4 slices and a handfull or two of crinkle cut fries).

Chips and salsa was free.

Our meals were about $25 total including drinks.

Pros:

Staff - Very friendly, patient, and accommodating.

Atmosphere - It was on a Friday midday - so it wasn't a lot of people in there and it was quiet.

Food - The food was really good. You could tell the food was made from scratch and was fresh. I hadn't had authentic Mexican - since 2009. Pleasantly - surprised. The food was fresh, hot, and tasted good. It wasn't overally seasoned. You could taste the food.

My daughter didn't eat her food because she feel asleep from all the traveling we had been doing - but she heated it that night and it still tasted good. Even the fries.

Cons:

Atmosphere - I think the decor could be updated a bit - unless the establishment is going for that look.

Restrooms - Could be cleaner and updated - but it served it's overall purpose.

When we visit again next year - we will definitely return again.

Thank you for a...

The food was not very good here. The chunky guacamole tased like it had old tomatoes in it and was more onions and tomatoes than actual avocado. The barbacoa is definitely not tradicional not horrible, but not barbacoa when it comes to a mexican dish. The carntas were a bit dry but really good flavor. Al pastor was not bad and probably my favorite of the tacos I tried. And then there was the asada...I am not really sure what it was but definitely not asada, at least not in a sense that you would think of in a mexican dish. It was more like just ground beef. The salsas were just bad. What they serve with the chips taste like it came from a jar that I could buy at the local grocery store. Two types of salsa came with my tacos. One was a green salsa which tasted like pure tomatillos and the other actually had some spice to it, but just not a lot of flavor. I would probably never go back here but I do have to say that the service was really good. Our waitress was attentive and made to check on us at the right time. The latin vibes are very present here as well. From the music to the...
