Went on a Friday for lunch. Service was wonderful but the food was okay. Atmosphere: small inside, tables only. Tables can be pushed together to accommodate large groups. A little dated inside. Location: on entrance road. This place used to be The Mustard Seed. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. Service: extremely friendly and down to earth. Waitresses went above to make sure everyone had everything. Some things got forgotten but it was an easy fix. Food: variety of pho, fried rice, appetizers (buns, spring rolls, egg rolls, etc), bbq noodles, Vietnamese sandwich, steamed rice and milk teas. Order the steak pho and it was good- was full after about half. Order a meat bun and it was NOT good. The consistency of the "meat" inside was similar to the texture of vienna sausage (mushy and weird) and it had sausage slices inside- just not good. Prices: was told they had to go up. Pho ranged $12-14. Appetizers $6-9. Rice $12-15. For my pho, meat bun and drink (plus added tip due to large group) my total was $27.48 Overall, it's okay. If I go back, I wouldn't get the appetizers. I'd probably just get the pho and maybe try the rice. Personally feel like the pho shouldn't cost $12 given that the majority of it is broth and veggies.

We went to the Mustard Seed recently to meet family before an outing. I choose this restaurant because geographically we wanted somewhere in Leesville and it was the the #1 rated restaurant in Leesville on Trip Advisor. It seemed like a good place to meet up. First impression was that we had the wrong place. Is this really even in Leesville? The restaurant sign shows clear Phillip Morris influence (it looks like they just blew up a pack of Marlboro Reds). The restaurant itself shows the potential new life for defunct 7-11’s. Inside was a strong Christian theme. Moving past that, the place was great. It has a strong family restaurant vibe. The wait staff were attentive and adorable. The food was good, simple fare. Large portions and good prices. I can see the appeal, and we might even come back if in the area. Warning: limited hours. 11-3 Monday to Thursday, 3-8 Friday and Saturday. Closed on Sunday.

Update: so they got in the spoons! That’s awesome, however, the sauce bottles are always sticky whenever I go in. I’ve been here a handful of times and the bottles are ALWAYS sticky. Can’t touch the hoisin sauce, sriracha, or Chili jar without your hand sticking to them. :( It’s pretty decent. Waitress was really friendly. I wouldn’t say it’s a typical traditional pho. Would have been nice to get some authentic soup spoons to go with it. But other than that, it was good.

We were hoping to have a good time here but how can multiple things go wrong in one visit. This is a newly opened restaurant, so I don't understand how we get our food served on chipped ceramic plates, didn't make a big deal out of it so I looked the other way. So the excitement went out the window when my 2nd bite into my 1 lb burger was bland & tasteless; two pieces of perfectly identical Patties (probably frozen). The melted cheese in between was a nice touch but could not disguise the unseasoned burger. It came with fries & raw onions. I hate raw onions! Half way thru my fries, I find a hair, stuck to the plate, covered by the oil from the fries. I have now stopped eating. My friend got fed up because she got a sirloin instead of a rib eye she had ordered. she has now told the waitress about everything at this point but I told them I didn't want a replacement for anything, I just won't come back here were the thoughts in my mind. so the female owner or manager, whoever she was, came to our table, looked at my friends plate. Told her that it was a rib eye. & of course my friend told her it wasn't, she works at a restaurant herself so she knew the difference. the lady with an attitude didn't want to be wrong but end up offering to cook another rib eye & said she was gonna put it in a to go plate. In between the lines, she wanted to kick us out. but I had to keep my military bearing so, why stay or argue about anything? We paid for our meals, we didn't ask for any discounts, something a decent restaurant in a decent city would do for customers who get hair In there food. We never received a single apology from the waitress or owner/manager. We left, and know that we're never coming back here. I personally think its a shame that a business this close to our installation has no...
